Corvo is a small island, and for a small island hotel, Comodoro does an amazing job. Clean and comfortable rooms, working WiFi, continental breakfast included into the room price - all in all, decent setting for a stay on the smallest island of the Azores archipelago. The front-desk lady was very friendly and she helped arrange a shuttle to the top of the mountain to see the caldera.
The room was well-sized, with enough storage space. Complimentary water was provided as well.
We can only recommend.

The only point of complaint is that there're no double beds in this hotel, only twin beds set apart, which is not that convenient. Also, a little bit of wear starts showing - I can imagine that a refresh will soon be due at this hotel.

The Hotel Comodoro is much more than a 2-star hotel, it has excellent rooms equipped with all amenities, and a great breakfast.  But the true soul of this friendly hotel is its owner, a learned man of great vision and a great sympathy, with whom it is a privilege to talk about the Corvo and the Azores.  Don’t miss Corvo, but remember you must feel Corvo, and discovery this wonderful island.

Perfect place

I was greeted at arrival and driven to the Guesthouse (much to my surprise) by a friendly lady who was the owner daughter herself!.... in fact it is located in a very walkable distance of Vila do Corvo unless you are carrying  heavy luggage...Nice and very clean place with everything that you need in the room. Hosts are very friendly, specially Mr Manuel and his wife, they made me feel so much at home!...Open Kitchen, yes, open Kitchen with coffee, tea and cookies also fruit and honey from Mr Manuel's private land which is so practical. Breakfast is simple but enough and to the level of a 3 star hotel. Corvo's great Cheese, homemade cookies, tartlets, fabulous bread and great coffee!
This place gets MY 5 stars for the way they hosts guests. Its like being at Mr Manuel's own home.

Fabulous Stay

It is not easy to find a place where you are professionally treated and, at the same time, received as a welcomed human being.. Well! this is one of those places. comfortable, clean, very well equipped, familiar.

A perfect mix!

We landed in this small faraway isolated town and immediately felt welcome. We were greated at the airport and driven to Manuel and Rosa’s Comorodoro Guesthouse even though we could have easily walked, everything is within walking distance in Corvo(ferry, airport, grocery store, restaurants, hikes).

Our 7 day stay was truly splendid, it was enough time to really enjoy the town and the walks (2 official walks and the others suggested by Manuel).  Manuel was a super host, he did everything to make our stay special, he drove us to multiple official and non-official trail heads, showed us where to go grocery shopping and explained how Corvo’s infrastructure developed over the years. 

Our room was quiet, spacious, clean (cleaned daily), our beds were extremely comfortable  (we have stayed on 8 of the 9 islands and these mattresses are by far the most comfortable) and the WIFI was extremely fast (I blog at night and had no trouble uploading photos). 

Breakfast was provided daily (fresh bread daily from the local bakery), oranges (juicy), yogurt (Azores), Jam (homemade) and available all day (hard to resist, especially after our walks). Rosa and Manuel opened up their kitchen for us so we were able to prepare a few meals.

Paradise in the Azores

A trip to Corvo is a trip to another planet! The smallest of all 9 Azorean islands is a unique and wonderful experience that should not be missed. I travelled to 124 countries already. Many places touched my heart, but Corvo did so a lot. It is a tiny rock in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. Less than 500 people live there in one village. Already when the small Dash 8-200 touched down on the 800 meters short runway, my heart was going at 200. You just feel that you have just landed in a very special place. The airport terminal is smaller than the living room at my home. The village is so cute. There is 1 church, 1 bakery (only open from 7-12), a post office that is open 3,5 hours per day, 1 restaurant, 2 shops to buy food... and what else? I think I listed everything. 
There is a lovely guest house, located in the upper part of the village. The owners welcome you with great, true Azorean hospitality and you feel at home from the first moment. In the room there is a good air condition (really necessary in the summer). You get your own bathroom with shower and everything you need. Lovely towels with pink writing and logo of the guest house, I loved this detail. Breakfast is prepared and arranged in a cute way by the owner. All in all it is not a hotel, but rather a home stay where you almost feel to be a member of the family. I loved yet adored to stay here, and it touched my heart a lot to be here! 
The top of the top attraction of Corvo island is its Caldeirão, the huge and magnificent crater. I drove up there three times within 24 hours and can only say that it is spectacular! Nature is stunning, and in my opinion if you travel to Azores it is a must to visit Corvo. For very sure I will return soon to this little paradise at the westernmost point of Europe. It is a very special place, very genuine, very pure, very cute, very unique. I loved it!
