location: It is located in a very beautiful area the scenery is gorgeous, it’s within walking distance from a small supermarket/ cafe, restaurants and beautiful beach, hiking trails, the location is amazing, I did not have a car & it was amazing

Amazing

We spend our time in Flores here. The property is absolutely beautiful and Ricardo the owner is a sweetheart. The little houses are beautiful and have everything you need. It is also located wery well and there are many things to do around.

Just lovely!!!

We stayed for a week in June 2022.  The bungalow was comfortable with a well equipped kitchenette and everywhere was spotlessly clean.  Each bungalow has a private garden and a small terrace where you can enjoy a glass of wine with dinner while watching the birds and the occasional rabbit!  Ricardo is the best host, knows everything about the island and will help with any queries.  There is a supermarket in the village but we preferred the village shop, owned through a few generations of the same family.  It's an easy drive to view the lakes or across the island to take the ferry to Corvo.  We decided to walk along the northern side of the west coast path which involved a steep climb from the start but great views and Ricardo advised us when to turn back (before getting to the road) which was helpful.  We would definitely recommend a stay at this lovely location.

Great place to stay

We stayed at Sitio da Assumada for two weeks. It is situated on the most gorgeous side of the island nature-wise, just outside of the village of Fajã Grande. 
The bungalows feel very private, surrounded by big hedges and in between two hills, protecting it from the winds. The grounds are beautifully kept with amazing plants and flowers everywhere and plenty of space for parking and relaxing in the garden.
The bungalows are clean and spacious and are supplied with all the appliances you will need for a nice and worry free vacation.
Ricardo is the friendliest and most gracious host you will ever meet. He's quick to respond to any question you have and wil make sure you always have clean towels.
Fajã Grande has a couple of bars and restaurants and a little supermarket for your basic needs. There are plenty of other restaurants throughout the island.
The island itself, with its green cliffs, waterfalls and lagoons offers some great hiking and has the most stunning vistas and natural beauty you will ever see. 
We would love to come back one day.

Quiet and peaceful

This is a small property with a few bungalows on the edge of Faja Grande. A quiet location. We stayed in a 2 bedroom bungalow, spacious. Good sized bathroom and fitted kitchen with coffeemaker with cups. The garden looks very nice and is sunny in the afternoon. In the bungalow we missed some reading lights near the sofa, there was just one ceiling light. Outside it would have perfect if there was some view towards the sea, but that is the downside of a quiet enclosed garden. The place is on walking distance of Faja Grande, nice for an evening stroll to have dinner. Ricardo was a very kind host, spoke good English and showed us a lot of possibilities on the island. He also booked our trip to Corvo for us.
Breakfast is not included and we would have like an arranged breakfast.

Spacious bungalow with a sunny garden

We stayed on five different islands in the Azores and this was one of our favourite accommodations. It is around a 25 minute drive from the airport. Our two bedroomed cabin was very comfortable and well-equipped.  It had a large lounge/diner with aircon and kitchen. Whilst there is a microwave, it would have been useful to have some plastic or glass microwavable bowls for heating things in. We used the cereal bowls but were concerned about cracking them. Essentials such as washing up liquid, cleaning cloths, soap, shower gel, tea bags, coffee and towels are provided. The cabin had a covered terrace with a hammock, seating and table. It also had a wonderfully landscaped private garden from which we saw rabbits and a lot of bird life, including sparrows feeding their chicks in nests in the wall. There was some insect activity in the evening, so insect repellent came in useful. We were in the front cabin so near to the (free) car park and attached to the Reception building whereas we would have preferred to be further back on the site. However, this did not end up being an issue. The owner is absolutely lovely; he is very friendly, very helpful and very knowledgeable. He was able to explain to us about the amazing birds (cagarro/Cory’s shearwaters) which flew overhead at night making other-worldly noises! They were fascinating and rather endearing. It is an easy walk into Faja Grande, where there are lovely coastal/waterfall walks, eating options and a well stocked mini-market. We would very happily return to this accommodation and are pleased to recommend it.

One of our favourite properties in the Azores

Siutated on the edge of Fajã Grande, the westernmost settlement in Europe, the Sitio da Assumada is ideally located for exploring the delightful walking on the west coast of Flores. The cabins are private, furnished to a high standard and spotlessly clean. Fajã Grande is a small, quiet village that offers a local store and a number of restaurants (I particularly recommend Casa da Vigia, just 5 minutes walk away). Ricardo, the proprietor, is extremely helpful, even lending me his walking poles to negotiate some of the more slippery slopes. From Sitio da Assumada, try the southern section of the Flores west coast walk (PR2FLO) and the walk to the Central Lakes (PR3FLO) though beware the paths are steep in places can get very slippery. Don't miss out on seeing spectacular waterfalls at the Poço da Ribeira do Ferreiro and the Poço do Bacalhau.

Great accommodations for 2 or 4 as the cabins have two bedrooms. Ricardo, the owner and host was very accommodating and gave us some tips on places to visit. The cabins are located on the outskirts of a small village and within walking distance of a small grocery store and restaurants and of course one of the most beautiful sunsets ever.  Definitely the place to stay when visiting Flores.

Charming Cabins

We stayed at Sitio da Assumada for three nights after spending time in a big hotel in Sao Miguel. We loved everything about it. It is located in a quiet village near a number of hiking trails. There are some markets and restaurants within walking distance. It was truly amazing falling asleep to the sound of the cagarro. I highly recommend staying here.

Sitio da Assumada - Eco Turismo is a Gem!

The hotel is located in a great area very close to the quaint town of Faja Grande. The grounds are very nice and the rooms are furnished well. You have your own patio and yard with a hammock. The innkeeper was awesome and very attentive to our needs. The only reason I give the hotel 4 stars is the beds are very hard. If you like an extremely firm bed they're great...I can't say all the rooms are like this...just the ones we had... other than the beds everything else is a five star!
