The house is virtually an outdoor area of the Costa Nova Hotel, which is a block away. There is both check-in and breakfast. Our room was large enough, was on the second floor, and had a beautiful view of the river. Since there was not much going on because of the pre-season, it was quiet. In the summer I don't want to be here, buses that haul day-trippers were already coming. There were only a few hundred meters to the beach. However, it was so stormy that afterwards you were panicked with sand. We were told that the strong wind is a problem of this place, not ideal for a beach vacation.

Good location

Excellent location, right in front of Ria, on the Costa Nova where you can see the typical houses of Aveiro. The accommodation is between the typical colorful huts, next to the pedestrian walk where you can find several restaurants. The check-in, check-o and breakfast are done in a hotel on the street behind this accommodation. Very close. Quite clean, spacious and large room. Family room with 1 bedroom and 2 child beds, ideal for families.

A beautiful find

Firstly for the Check IN, you have to go to another Hotel on the back street than the place where they should sleep!!!... This could be better indicated or specified when booking!!! The room was very wet and the quality of the bedding leaves a little to be desired (stained sheets and a little yellow)... if not, the room is very spacious... wood floor... large balcony (room #4)... a lot of storage but no refrigerator!

Well located... but!!

The check-in takes place in the Costa Nova Hotel a street further down the road. There was also breakfast (good choice, all right). The bus stop is a few metres from the hotel (the bus to Aveiro does, however, take a big city tour and comes regularly noticeably late). We particularly liked the bathroom with bathtub at the accommodation. The installation fountain was defective, but a replacement device was in the closet. The view from the balcony was also beautiful. To the beach it is a few minutes walk. Restaurants in the area are few, but many are significantly too expensive for normal tourists. A few minutes of a supermarket is conveniently available.

I'm going to recommend it!

Great location, riverfront. Good beds and good bathroom. Clean. Beautiful view in the front rooms. Full breakfast in the other hotel in the group, a few meters away. Great off-season cost-benefit ratio.

Great cost benefit

I stayed at this hotel on 21 and 22 November 2016. Stay in room no.8, on the 2nd floor. Spacious q.b., with good bathroom. The view over the Ria is worth... 90% of the stay! The price / night, 55 euros, is fair. This hotel, as I realized, belongs to the Hotel Azevedo (looks in its rear), works as an annex to this. It has no reception of its own, the check-in was done precisely at the Hotel Azevedo. For some people, at this time of year, it may seem a little unsafe, because there are no employees present in the establishment. Everything is clean, dried, well maintained, functional.

Stunning view of the Ria, good quality to price ratio

We stayed for one night, and this is an absolute ok place - clean, in good shape, beds are ok - if the room faces the river you see that (though there are two streets in between) so really ok for a three star place, but thats what you pay for and what you get. 
Staff is friendly, for breakfast we would recommend to go to the next cafeteria, specially if coffee is important to you.

Very fair priced friendly place

For a quick passage through Costa Nova, we chose the cheapest room overlooking a back street with no view, with a very small balcony. The building is modern, modern and simple furniture, small bathroom. Reasonable for a short stay, this room I would not recommend for a longer stay, perhaps one of those who are facing the water and have a larger balcony. It belongs to Hotel Azevedo where you will get the key and have breakfast which is acceptable.

Plain

Great location on Costa Nova, room had nice balcony overlooking river, good restaurants close by. Decent sized, clean and comfortable room with large double bed (not two singles shoved together), spacious bathroom. Check-in is in the Azevedo Hotel located in the street behind, staff there are helpful. The breakfast, taken in the main hotel building, was good. Wi-fi Internet access good and stable.  We had no problem parking on the street but it was early October and the season was winding down. Costa Nova is very attractive and interesting, there is a wide boulevard with extensive green space between the hotel and the river and it's a short easy drive to Aveiro. Varandas da Ria is all you need for a one, two or three night stay to visit Aveiro and the area's outstanding beaches and sand dunes.

Great location on Costa Nova close to the lovely town of Aveiro

The bed was comfortable, the view is beautiful and it's well situated. The bathroom had a drain and the bathroom was flooded, the toilet lid was loose, the bathroom door closed badly and makes a lot of noise, the door that can go to the balcony if it's closed and tight, it opens and the front door too. If we didn't call to talk about cleaning, we didn't know that the maids would only go until 1:00, as we stayed at the Ria Varandas and the seat is at the Hotel Azevedo, I think they could have informed. There was a very friendly employee but the rest didn't, very unpleasant and dispatched.
