The views from the property alone made for the perfect stay in Alentejo.  The house has recently undergone a beautiful renovation, including an outdoor yoga studio overlooking the valley and an infinite pool with views all the way to the coast.  The massive, new outdoor dining table easily sat all 15 of us for our nightly dinners under the stars.  To make for the perfect stay, I highly recommend booking a catered dinner from host, Dom, a veteran chef with wonderful connections for a locally-sourced feast.  Suffice to say it was difficult to pull ourselves away at the end of the stay.

Idyllic paradise in Alentejo

My girlfriend and I stayed in the wood cabin for a month during December. The feeling of seclusion and peace is unbelievable here. The views are breathtaking and the property has many tracks and secluded spots, all making it a piece of paradise in the trees. It is so easy to get to the lovely town of Melides and the beach is an easy ride in the car. We did horse riding and wine tasting nearby that the lovely owner organised for us.

Winter paradise

We stayed here for our first holidays with our baby (9 months) and it was the best decision we made! Quiet and peaceful whilst still having a bit of trendy hippie-chic atmosphere. 

The house is perfect: good-sized rooms with private balcony, clean, nicely decorated and with fantastic views over mountains and sea.  The pool area is a gem: salt water infinity pool with enough sunbeds for number os guests and good shadow. Breakfast is homemade bliss, I'm still dreaming of Queijadinhas de côco. There is also well equipped kitchen at disposal. The owne, Joaquim, is always there with a smile, ready to go the extra mile for your comfort. 

Close to beautiful beaches (Comporta, Melides) and little charming towns (Melides and Grândola).

Piece of heaven

We stayed at Pinhal Coutada for three nights in September. The views across the woods to the sea are stunning and the whole setting is calm and relaxing. The place is immaculate in every detail, tastefully furnished inside and outside, and the infinity swimming pool is a real experience! Breakfasts are a labour of love with our host, Joaquim and his partner, cooking fresh food using quality ingredients and prepared with such care. Bring things to cook on the impressive Portuguese BBQ, but all the basics such as oil, seasoning etc is already here. Walching the evening sunsets from by the pool must be one of the best views in the country, and is reminiscent of sunsets in Africa. I can not recommend a few days stay here too highly. It is almost paradise! English spoken and wi-fi in all rooms. It is a country retreat far from the madding crowd!

Paradise Found

The house was fully equipped and our host was very friendly and helpful. It is definitely ideal to stay there with friends and make the most of the pool area, the outside pool area and the spacious living room! The bedrooms are beautiful and comfortable and clean, just as the bathrooms.Getting there is a bit difficult but with our host's help and the GPS we could found our way to the house.
I cannot really say what I didn't like about the accommodation...even the dirt road leading up the houses special! I definitely recommend it!

Best birthday ever

A perfect location if you seek for a peaceful stay, far away from touristic madness in the Algarve. One hour and a half drive south from Lisbon airport, in the oak and pine tree landscape of the Alentejo coast, Joaquim and his girlfriend are hosting a beautiful hill site with a view on the shimmering Atlantic, with a strip of sandy beach, the blue water of the Lagoa de Melides together with the green rice fields. Wow.

The offroad path to reach the premises is a bit bumpy, but you'll get used to it (your rental car as well) and it's all worth it. Besides his beatiful country house and its infinite salt water pool, there is a full equiped wooden house at 100m having all that you need for a relaxed holiday. Two bedrooms (one for 2 kids), bathroom, kitchen, living room, extra outside shower, a barbecue place and again.... the view. 
Around the pool area you have access to the country house Wifi to plan your trips and restaurants. We stayed for 1 week in this lovely wooden place and although you have your own kitchen, please book for the breakfast as well, it's yummy.

Joaquim is very helpful, the hosts are dedicated to make their guests having a good stay in their B&B.

Offroad with a view

Pinhal da Coutada is the perfect place to relax without kids. The view is amazing. Joaquim and his wife are very nice for all ths clients. The place is very beautiful, the house is really clean and the breakfast buffet is delicious. The special cake is unique.
