Really lovely tranquil stay, surrounded by gardens and wildlife. The pool was very refreshing and the room simple, but lovely and cool. Sam the dog was a very friendly and welcoming presence and the hotel owner very helpful and generous. A really nice place to stay.

A lovely rural retreat

This is a lovely, friendly and relaxed place to stay. The grass courtyard is surrounded by exotic planting that we don’t usually see in the UK. Each room has a table outside with a couple of chairs, there’s a pool with sun loungers at the centre. It was the end of season and the pool was not regularly used.

Lovely, friendly an relaxed

We spent one night here on a walking holiday. It is a small establishment at the edge of a small town. No dinner but they offer a fair breakfast. The rooms are fine for a short stay, with tea and coffee facilities. they have a small range of drinks available too. A good size swimming  pool and a small garden. I was a little taken aback by the owner saying one of her dogs doesn't like the refugees in the town *from Taiwan I believe) but they she is has no problem with 'coloured' people. Something may have been lost in translation perhaps?

Reasonable but....

If you like rude, you'll love Maria! She has no grace and no sense of customer service.  

She rushed us out our rooms at 9:15am...to accommodate her schedule not ours. Imagine being forced to check out at 9:15am! Who does that?!! Have you ever stayed anywhere where you need to leave at 9:15am? NO? Don't start by staying here.

In addition, the rooms were here musty and smelled of mould. I think that they had been shut up all winter and not aired for our arrival despite the fact that she knew weeks before our arrival that we were booked.  I am giving her the benefit of the doubt but it's quite possible that they smell like that all year long. There is no heat in the rooms - night time temperatures during our stay were 7C.....burrr! The hot water takes a while to arrive out of the tap too. 

I am trying to think if positive to say and the only thing I can think of is that we were forced to leave early in the morning LOL. 

Worst service EVER!

A strange "motel type" single storey block in a residential area. To the rear are gardens and a pool. The room was serviceable with tea and kettle and cake on arrival. There was a fridge, in the wardrobe, poered via an extension cable which ran across the bathroom doorway.
Breakfast was communal and adequate

Walking the Rota Vicentina - Day 6

If you're hiking the Rota Vincentina, your hotel choices are a hostel in town or the Monte Novo da Longueira.  Our group stayed at the Monte Novo and were pleasantly surprised at the quaint hotel and nice courtyard where we could all sit and rest our feet.  It's off the trail a couple of miles but what the heck - the local ambience was well worth it.  There are decent restaurant options nearby and the breakfast prepared for us was fantastic.  I highly recommend this spot.

Great spot

We were walk8ng the rota Vicentina and this small hotel with its sunny courtyard and pool was great to sit in after tak8ng a dip. Maria took us to a restaurant early as those in the village were closed, then picked us up at the end. The rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast good.
