Monta da Eirinha  is a nice place in the country side about 18 km outside of Mertola, which is the next place to have dinner. It's a quiet place with a nice pool. The rooms are rather small but very clean with air-conditioning. Very reasonable prices. The only concern for us: Breakfast started at 9 am (al least on a Sunday) and we had to leave earlier for Faro airport. The lady, who gave us the keys to our room didn*t speak one word of English. And you better should get into contact with them in advance , if you should arrive later than 6pm

one night near Mertola

We stayed there for one night. We could check in between 14:00 and 20:00. We arrived at 19:40 and nobody was there. We tried to search for a staff-member. Nothing... We tried to call the numbers on the sign next to the gate and after 8-9 attempts they finally picked up the phone. One friendly lady came after 20 minutes to give us the keys. She didn't even try to appologize. Too bad. She also told us a staffmember would come the next moring at 08:00 to open the pool for us and check us out. We stayed there till 09:00-ish and nobody showed up. We callled the number again, multiply times and told we would leave. The response was: OK, and they hung up. We left the key and continued our trip.

Horrible experience

In touch with complete nature. It was the best acomodation we could have. Confortable, about 10-15 mnts from town. From Monte da eirinha we were in the middle of all the cultural, visiting areas. Away from everything, a pure relaxed place. Will return indeed, we didn't stay more than three days and, so, it wasn't enough to see all the sites related to Mértola. We will return very soon :-)
