Casa da Gandarela

We have stayed for a week in june 2019 at the Casa da Gandarela in Soajo. Soajo is a small village and the house is peacefully located at the end of a windy road near the cemetery. The marker of the location is a bit off, follow the road next to the cemetery and you will get there. Upon arrival and the next days, the owner makes you feel like a part of the family: breakfast in the morning with bread at your doorstep, sometimes with fresh eggs from the chickens or a homemade cake, and a bottle of porto upon arriving. In front of the house is a large garden, which the family uses for fruit and vegetables. Sometimes someone is cleaning the garden and feeding the animals, but this is not intimidating at all. Everyone leaves you alone and respects your privacy at all times, say 'hi' if you want to when passing the gate to get a friendly 'hi' back, but it is not mandatory. There are a few terraces, 1 next to the kitchen has both morning AND evening sunshine upon it, check it out! The beds are ok, not the best, not the worst, bathrooms are good. Good value for your money, great and friendly owners!
