To summarize: We arrive on Saturday at 14:00 (scheduled by mail with the owner) and...we are not expected to check in. Some of the BBQs on the premises have never been seen before. => Passed by booking.com, Mr. by telephone asks us to justify our payment (because Mr. has several accommodation sites and we have exchanged an initial rent with a higher studio in Quinta Do Lago). so there is no trace of our arrival of 731 euros! the upper 55m2 studio is not even expected to see the BBQs on some of the sites you have never seen before. => Some of the BBQs on the premises of a private dining room => 1 single ticket => 1 single ticket => 1 single ticket => 1 single ticket => 1 ticket => 1 ticket => 1 ticket => 1 ticket => 1 ticket => 1 ticket => 1 ticket => 1 ticket, the reception to enjoy the local specialties (because Mr. has several accommodation sites and we have exchanged an initial rent with a higher studio in Quinta Do Lago).

Get out of here!

You have to make your beds on arrival; no, it's not a joke! housekeeping isn't done, the pool: a nightmare, the garden: abandoned... no cafeteria, no cooking, the oven is disgusting, be careful when you open the fridge don't rip the stretch in front because the fridge is plugged in on it. No mirror lighting in the bathroom, the washing machine worn out over time... towels that have already been served, served, served... no bowls for breakfast, the restaurant is closed.

It's a scam.

It's been taken off hotel booking sites with good reason. The cockroaches in the pool was he last straw. It looks lovely from the outside but it's a dump. The receptionist walked out after a couple of days and we did the same.
It's supposed to be apartments. Ours had two bedrooms with a fridge in one of them...

A dump

Lier on the anounce : no private balcony, no private litchen( to share), no restaurant ( and its isolated), no common barbecue tu use, no phonik isolation.. Access very difficult, we crash the car each time, proximity of a phone antenna, very expensive for what they give.. Really

To Forget

To begin with impossible to find the establishment we were forced to ask our way, once the establishment found they had almost been forced to pack our suitcases on foot so the slope is peaked, the reception at the horrible reception felt disturbing, the pool is quite small and not very clean but the worst part of the room escaped.

Fleeing

Really horrible establishment with very bad installations no services available such as breakfast or other very dirty pool and not to use escape room without storage with a deafening noise from the facilities and the worst of this establishment remains access because this is part of a Dakar course to sum up never go to this establishment under penalty of being misled like me

Prison holidays

We stayed for 8 days and the truth is that the place is worth it to be quiet and rest, even though it is just outside a small town that has virtually nothing and Nazaré is 5 km away, so you have to take the car for everything. There is an incredible wild beach on the other side of the valley, about 3 km away. The staff is charming and really friendly, we ate a few hamburgers there one day to make a late swimming pool (although it was truncated because there is always a lot of wind) and the quality of the price is great!! Our accommodation was the upper studio, which consists of two stations and a very large cooking hall.

 The right price and quality ratio.

Having been somewhat misled by the address "Nazare" (it is nowhere near it) my husband and I finally found Quinta do Galego - it is just outside the village of Famalicão, on the village road. Set back from the road and in a slightly elevated position, peeping through a lush green planted up garden with some high pine trees there is this lovely Quinta,  which (enhanced by the wooden chalet along side it) bears more resemblance to an Eastern European alpine chalet than a Portuguese Quinta. Charming property, big verandah and table outside, swinging hammock. As we had our small dog with us, we could only stay in the wooden chalet which was very basic but clean and quite romantic, with its own small verandah. Well equipped with fridge and cooking facilities. Behind the main house was a decent sized pool and breakfast room/small restaurant. In terms of property - we liked it very much. The downside? We arrived at 3 pm after a  long journey and telephoned beforehand to ask whether the restaurant was still serving food. Yes. On arrival, tired and gasping for a cold relaxing glass of wine, we asked for a bottle of white wine. No wine. No wine? But they have a restaurant? And what could we eat? Within minutes we had dished up two huge rolls with cold pork and ham, a bowl of cold soggy chips, Pastel de Nata, orange juice and sweet cakes. And a glass jug of warm very suspect orangey looking wine which turned out undrinkable. We were dejected - this was Saturday afternoon! To their credit, the two very charming owners (we suspected mother and son, who turned out to be Russian) tried their best and rifled through the "restaurant's" wine cellar, offering us various dusty and quite old red wines (they were probably fantastic, but not when you just want a glass of chilled white!) 
As the gestures had been so ready, and willing and the owners did very much try to please us we really could not be annoyed.  Ambling down early evening (less than 10 minutes) to Famalicão, we found a fabulous little restaurant specialising in Leitão - roast suckling pig. We stocked up on the roast porker and great chips and salad, chilled vino verde (from the local bar, in a plastic water bottle - but great!) took it all home and then finally spent some wonderful quiet hours on our verandah, eating delicious food, drinking ice cold wine and overlooking the very pleasing garden and area, followed by a very comfortable night in the chalet bed. Breakfast was simple: fresh rolls, ham and cheese, with delicious apple juice and strong coffee. And we were not charged for the previous day's "lunch". We both loved it there - and will happily come again. Charming owners, charming place - just bring your own food and wine!
