We stayed here for one night on our Portugal adventure and it was worth the extra mileage by far.  Obidos is a small town situated inside a castle wall.   Charming stores, friendly people and a castle wall walk not for the faint of heart.  
Our host was amazingly helpful and accommodating.   A room and breakfast fit for a queen.  

Travelling off the beaten path

Stopped here for one night and the place is amazing! The beds are super comfy, bathroom is lovely and clean! Room is spacious and decorated lovely! Stayed around christmas period is a great location to local shops and castle 

Overall would defo reccommend it as its a bargin! Owners are really nice and accomodating. Stayed for breakfast which provided a variety of tasty treats.

Amazing place!

This hotel is like a bed and breakfast. The rooms and hotel are cozy and full of character as is the town. The breakfast is limited but fine. The location is great, right off the main street at the main gate. My wife and I loved this place and the lady who runs it, lives on the premises and is very nice and accommodating. The town is a gem and worth a visit although its off the beaten path. This hotel apparently has no a/c which might be an issue in summer but was fine for our visit in May.

Old world charm and more, highly recommend!

Located near the entrance of gate of Óbidos old town, this B&B offers a comfortable stay. The old town is small and all the places are within easy walking distance from the hotel. Guests may also enjoy a quiet stroll in the town in early morning or late night when most day-trip travellers and travel groups are not in the town. It is also near to the coach stop which offers easy access to Lisbon and other towns nearby. A major supermarket, Pingo Doce, is within a 20-min walking distance. The room no.2 had a good view of the wall and the town. 

Cons: Room was a bit small. It was difficult to find a laundry place in and near the town and it could be an issue for people who stay longer.

Comfortable B&B at a convenient location

Ana is friendly and helpful, she went out of her way to help us with a taxi the day we left. This classic accommodation is right inside the old village, near the main gate, and we could see the castle walls from outside our room window.  We could hear the male opera singer accordion player busking under the main gate archway from our room too.  Great to stay overnight and see the village after the tourists leave-quiet and peaceful. Also pleasant and tranquil in the early morning. The breakfast which comes with the room includes yoghurt, cereal, meats, cheese, fruits, fresh orange juice coffee and choice of teas. We are glad we stayed in Obidos at this lovely, family-owned (for over 100 years) guest house.

Classically decorated guest house 

I really like staying in this nice little place. It is very clean and quiet. It is very close to the entrance to the walled town, so once you get thru the only entrance into the walled town it is very easy to get there.
It had tons of old world charm. The breakfast included in the very reasonable price was very good.
It is 1 block off the main street where the tourist places are, but it was very quiet.
I would stay there again and suggest you try it. I do not think you would be disappointed!

Pretty comfortable place to stay.

We live in Lisboa and were looking for a quiet weekend in the country.  It did not turn out to be what we envisioned.  I know you read all the wonderful reviews about this property by the Midwestern housewives who come to PT on vacation and fall in love with the "charm" of the place, but I'm just going to tell you about our experience.

There is no one onsite at this property to address anything.  And there are NO phone numbers posted anywhere in the common areas to call if you need anything.

We arrived at around 11.30am and just wanted to drop off our bag.  The doors were locked and there was no way to get in.  We called both numbers on the website (reservations and reception) and no one answered either number.  Then we shouted to the cleaner on top floor, and he came down and let us in and gave us a key and fob to unlock the front door.  He told us that we had "room number 1" because when he looked at our reservation confirmation it said that we had booked "1 room." ????  Should have been a clue....

When we returned in the afternoon, we actually saw the room.  It was a tiny room on the first floor.  There was a window without a screen or curtain that faced the path/road outside.  Anyone walking by could not only see inside but if they wanted to, they could easily put their hand through the open window and touch you while lying in bed.  No kidding.

The batteries in the TV remote were not working and again we tried to call the numbers on the website.  No answer.

Around 6pm, we heard an American couple outside our window. You can hear everything outside.  They were having the same issue; couldn't get into the property and didn't know who to call for keys, room etc.  We let them in but couldn't provide any other clues.  Then, another couple staying there came downstairs and gave them a Booking.com number to call.  That worked and they were able to get into their room.  A comedy.

Rather than just pack it in and drive back to Lisboa, we decided to stay and go out for a nice dinner.  When we got back, we noticed that there was a music school next door.  On a Saturday night, there was a full brass band practicing the same piece of music over and over for 3 hours!  No kidding.  And you had to keep the small window in the room open just to get any ventilation.  This invited a nasty black fly into the room which buzzed around us all night.  No idea what they do during the summer when mosquitoes are out all over PT.

Next morning we were exhausted by the "charm" and "quaintness" of this property and just wanted to go home.  The only positive was the breakfast which was made by Nunu.

As I always say, don't take my word for it.  Check it out for yrself.
