This is a family run business and the owner went out of his way to make sure that everything went well for me. I was impressed that this is a 500-year-old building that has been modified over the years in has  been brought up to date by the family. The hospitality here is excellent.  Although the rooms are small, they did not lack for anything... an excellent value.

Excellent hotel

stayed here for one night and loved everything about the place, a small family run B&B that is both charming and lovely, the owner was so nice and helpful and made us feel very welcome, we love the history of the place, there is an entrance to the wall just steps away from the b&b, our room was nice and cool, cozy and comfortable, the location is fantastic! the breakfast was great! this is one of the best place that we have stayed at! would love to come back! highly recommended!

Great find!

This is an inexpensive and perfectly adequate B&B located just outside the medieval walls of Obidos.  If you are driving, there is easy parking along the walls right at the property.  Just across the street in the other direction is one of the best restaurants in town (Jamon, Jamon).  A quiet stay, a friendly innkeeper, a cheap price.  The only negative is the breakfast was not up to standards for a B&B.  No hot food is served, but that is a small flaw.

Bargain B&B

Lovely 500-year-old house right by Óbidos walls. Very comfy room. Clean. Nice continental breakfast served by housekeeper. João, the owner saw us in and advised on places to eat. Great recommendations! Would definitely go back. Loved his family’s homemade ginjinha!

Great B&B just outside Obidos city walls

We had trouble finding the place at first, but once we did, it was worth the effort. John, the young manager was welcoming, helpful and caring. He showed us the best restaurants and bars to go to and located them on a map for us. We sampled his Grandfahters fine cherry liquor which was excellent. They provided us parking as well.

Awesome Hotel

We arrived before check in time. John (his grandparents own the house) took in our luggage, gave us a map of the city and recommendations for lunch. He even gave us his phone number if we need him. So nice!
The place has an authentic touch. Very nice room - #2 with 2 windows, and a nice touch. The bed was o.k. and the bathroom as well. Small but good enough for us.

Small place for breakfast. Fresh bread. Minimal - brought to your table.,but enough. 
The casa is right in front of the old city.  Very convenient.

Really great young host- John!

Because Obidos is a medieval town with cobblestones,we tried stopping by before check in to drop off our bags and maybe use a bathroom but the grandma who owns the place wouldn't even open the door for me because it was before the check in time.  Even when I told her that we didn't need to check in but rather just leave our bags she wouldn't let us in.  When we came back she started yelling at me twice about how dared I try coming before check in and how impolite I was.  The grandson couldn't have been more mortified but she already had spoiled our stay.  It is a cute old house, without a lot of amenities.  The breakfast was probably the worst one in Portugal, which usually offers you lots of choices.  Here you had a couple rolls, a couple slices of bread, and cake.  I asked if they had yogurt, they didn't.  They also don't serve breakfast until 8:35 because bread doesn't get delivered until 8:30.  The grandson did drive us to our parking because otherwise we would have to have carried out suitcases through the cobblestones again.
