Great hospitality from the owners and total availability to help us fining the best places to eat and visit. The breakfast is simply wonderful! Is one of those places where you almost feel like family.

What a lovely setting and such a welcoming couple! We had a cosy one night stay in early November. The property was nestled in a valley with a stream running by and we had a very comfortable room in a stone house with a wood stove and crisp sheets! The location was great for us to tour nearby historic villages but I would imagine it is even better in the summer when you can enjoy the pool and stream. We loved hearing the burros and petting the dogs and a highlight was an arranged dinner  by Maria Caldeira De Susa of Casa Da Velha Fonte. It was fabulous! Breakfast was delicious too! Very clean and very attractive property! Very peaceful! Lovely owners!

The property is located in a very beautiful enviroment, with different facilities and the breakfast was delicious. Both hosts are very friendly and helpful. 

Would strongly recommend for anyone looking for a place in nature! We regereted that we didn't booked for a longer stay

The place to recharge and enjoy the nature

Moinho do Maneio is an amazing place, so peaceful and quiet, just perfect for a getaway and to rest.
It's comprised of a few independent small houses, some with one bed, others with two or three. There's a pool, fusball, a canoe and a small river right by the property and the food is just yummy! Highly recommended, on all fronts!

One of the simplest and yet best places I've ever stayed in!

had a great few days here to end a trip out to central portugal. quiet and tranquil valley with a pool. the cottages are very stylish and comfortable
the hosts are very friendly and accommodating and you wont find a nicer place to stay in the area

We chose this location because it was convenient en route from Madrid to Lisbon but were blown away by the beauty, hospitality and introduction to the Portuguese.  Such friendly people, such good food, so much history. Rui and Annabelle were lovely hosts who took time to answer questions, take photos and make our introduction a positive one.  The breakfast was terrific (even sharing recipes) and our time was just perfect.  This is a real get-a-way and glimpse into what hard farm life must have been like hundreds of years ago.

Farm House Chic

Moinho do Maneio is extraordinary. If you are the kind of person who loves to be able to not hear cars driving by, even far away... then this is for you. 
Although you have to drive approximately 800m on beaten track, what awaits you is a beautiful tiny vale just south of the heart of the serra da Malcata. 
From the moment you arrive, the owners, Anabela and Rui, will do everything to help, in a frank, honest manner, but they do so unobtrusively. Even the cats and dogs seem to wag their tails so as to greet you,
There are 4 bungalows, beautifully made up and all totally different. The beds are a little smaller than we are used to, but are comfortable and everything is impeccably clean.
What, perhaps, makes the Moinho the most appealing is the fact that it has  an overall philosophy, a leitmotif which permeates the air; peace, serenity and well-being.
The breakfast is to die for, and, Rui and Anabela grow their own raspberries, so you'll have them a-plenty. Eating out on the porch under the endless sky, surrounded by trees, with a stream nearby, has to have been one of the essential pleasures that I will take with me.
Although the drought that portugal has felt during the last year made it impossible for us to swim in the stream, the owners made sure we had free access to the swimming pool at the local camp site, so we could take a dip on days when it reached 40ºC.
This was one place I would love to return to, and certainly, one which I knew I would love to write up about.

A Slice of Paradise

In this place I’ve learned so much about life. I felt so much peace and this is a peaceful place where joy, love and friendship are joined. I´ll repeat the experience. The river, the birds singing, the excellent breakfast , the sympathy … all of this belong at my heart since the day I arrived at Moinho do Maneio to spend a weekend.
