I can’t say enough great things about the Peniche Surf Lodge! The vibe is laid-back yet vibrant, perfect for meeting fellow travelers and soaking up the surf culture. The surf lessons were certainly a highlight of my stay. Duncan and Dane were knowledgeable, patient, and so much fun! They made sure everyone felt comfortable and properly challenged. The hostel itself is very clean (thanks! I personally tracked in my fair share of sand), super cozy, and well-organized, with plenty of space to relax after a day in the water. The communal areas were lively yet chill, and the location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from the beach and local restaurants/cafes/grocery stores. (Claire, Duncan, and Dane provide daily van rides to the beach & set up a cozy/awesome oceanside camp as well) If you’re looking for an affordable, welcoming, and adventurous place to stay, especially if you’re interested in surfing, this hostel is unbeatable. We will definitely be back for another round of waves and good vibes! Thanks for hosting us, Claire/Duncan/Dane!!!
