    Amazing

This Hotel may be old, but wow what character it has, if only it could speak. We were greeted at reception with a warm welcome, room was spotless, bathroom spotless, lovely fluffy towels changed every day. We had room over looking road, but heard very little noise, wonderful wooden shutters to close

Excellent old hotel near the Porto train station

The Peninsular must have been a splendid hotel when it first opened. While it has lost some of its lustre, it has a pleasant retro feel that was appealing to us. The rooms are a good size with everything functional. The breakfast spread is nice and the staff is very friendly. Given the price and

    Value for money

Its proximity to Sao Bento is the primary factor I chose Peninsular. Not only it is value for money on my part, it is in the heart of Porto so whenever I was near, after walking around town, I dropped by my souvenirs or changed my shirt. Clean and serving breakfast, it's open anytime of the day, wit

    Solo holiday

This is a great value hotel. I had a couple of small issues which were sorted in a heartbeat. It does what it says on the tin. If you want 5 star luxury then you have to go to a five star hotel If you are on a budget this is a fantastic option. It has so many original features to admire. Yes the

    Very Economical Traditional Portuguese hotel

On first Impression the hotel is old fashioned and dark in need of a revamp, but the facilities were clean, staff were very helpful and our room was quiet and comfortable. There is a lift to most floors, whilst a large central stairway has plenty of meeting areas off it with some lovely real plants.

    Cheap & Basic Central Hotel

Old styled hotel that is like stepping back into the 70's. If all your looking for is somewhere basic to stay in a good location in centre of Porto then this is the place for you. Rooms are dated but adequate for a short stay. Simple breakfast included in rate.

    Night before start Camino

We want to stay one night in Porto before we start camino trek. Hotel Peninsular is quite cheap and it has good location. But its best is over. Hotel is dark, not really clean, has really poor breakfast (buffet). If you want to stay one night, you will survive :-) I wouldn't want to be here more nig

    Untrustworthy Management

I stayed at this hotel 3 nights. When I checked out, I left an labeled envelope at the front desk with a tip for a tour guide, the staff said this would be no problem. When the guide went to pick it up, the manager (Silvia) had taken the money and gave the guide a bad time- she acted like it was rid
