The winery, tour guide, and wines were really nice!
It was a super hot day, but it was really nice inside the wine cellars and in the tasting room . The views from the winery are amazing, and seems like it would be really nice to stay in their place .

Nice wine tasting experience in the heart of Duoro!

I cannot say enough about this place....it was absolutely surreal. Stunning views and accommodation straight out of a romance novel. Everything was perfect. This property is breathtaking, the wine and food perfection and the staff were friendly and helpful. This was the highlight of our Portugal trip...words cannot even describe the beauty.

We had the wine tour and it was worth it by the reception views alone!, Patricia was very passionate about every detail involving their wine production and she explained everything in detail but easy to understand for people that don't know much about it like me.
The end of the tour is the wine testing and it was beautifully done.

We came here by accident and had the best meal we had in Portugal. Gorgeous lasagne of all things; and a half chicken. But so well done and the wine was delicious. Highly recommend

The deck overlooking the river is gorgeous. Reservations seem to be a must, so plan ahead!

Amazing food. Amazing deck. Amazing view. Amazing value

Brilliant food in a great restaurant beautifully situated. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Well worth a visit to Pinhão just to dine at this restaurant. Not pretentious but definitely worth a mention in the Michelin Guide, or possibly 1 Star.

Took the train to Pinhao then walked up the hill to this Quinta (about 20 minutes, paved most of the way, otherwise flat cobblestones). When arriving it was confusing, not knowing where to go for what so recommend adding more specific signage. Though after finding the restaurant we had a welcoming experience and impeccable and delicious meal. Gourmet and upscale without being stuffy. Loved it! Then did a tour and tasting which was interesting and tasty.

Super lunch and experience

we enjoyed the winery and cellar tour we took on Nov 12.  (english tour).   our guide was well versed in the process of wine making and cellaring of the ports.  She was able to answer all of our questions. 

it was a great learning experience, and we enjoyed the wine/port tastings.   we are excited to try the Rose Port!

we also had lunch at the restaurant and enjoyed our meal.  the Desserts port pairings we excellent

Winery and Cellar Tour/Restaurant

The guided factory visit is not worth it, very little knowledge of the person who guides it, if you want to know a little more about the process of their wines , they don't give you an explanation
The food in the restaurant is of very good quality, it was really the valuable thing about the place.

very simple sightseeing tour

My husband and I were traveling with another couple and booked 2 rooms. Their room was on the upper level and did not have any issues. Our first room was on the lowest level and when we got in, it smelled of mold (my husband has terrible mold allergies) so the staff said they would get us another room when it was available. Later that day we got another room that seemed to smell ok - not on the lowest level but one above. But when we returned after dinner, it, too, smelled of mold. We think that the smell was covered up when we first got into the room and then later dissipated. Because it was late, we just kept the room and dealt with it. We were also traveling with friends and did not want to make a big deal of it. Unfortunately, when we left Pinhão, 2 days later, my husband developed a severe sinus infection. While the grounds were very nice, I would be careful about which rooms you end up booking. Maybe this is not an issue in the summer?

Moldy rooms

We had an amazing stay at the Quinta. We arrived by train to Pinhao and did not have any problems getting a taxi to drive us to the Quinta. The rest of our stay we enjoyed the beautiful walk to town along the river (about 3/4 of a mile each way). The staff is very kind and helpful. Our room was huge and modern with a large bathroom. We also had a small balcony overlooking the river and valley. Amazing! There is a lot of outdoor walking necessary to get to the rooms and/or restaurant and we had two fights of outdoor stairs to go down to get to our room. Not a problem for us, but guests should be aware. It included a wonderful and beautifully presented breakfast buffet everyday. We enjoyed walking in their vineyards. We also did the wine tour and tasting - which we really enjoyed and recommend. Finally, we had the best dinner of the trip (which is saying a lot) at their restaurant. We had a spectacular meal of roasted octopus and garlic kale with their homemade chocolate ice cream for dessert. This was a fine dining experience that we felt was well worth it.
