After about 40 minutes' drive from Madalena Ferry Station, you can reach this location in the northeast of the island. The B&B is right in the heart of the city and you can easily walk to two supermarkets. Unfortunately, there is no occupied reception, so the start is a little bumpy. The official phone number is empty, but on a half-rigged note at the entrance door there are other numbers that will then reach the owners... Then bring some patience with you.

A good starting point for a hiking tour - otherwise well

Liked · Lovely. The place is gorgeous. Its an old renovated house in the heart of a cute small village close to the sea. The room was big and comfortable - big bed - with a huge toilet/shower plenty of space. Great open kitchen/meal area with a very nice breakfast with espresso coffee machine. You can use the fridge, oven, etc. Everything is incredibly clean. The woman staff are very lovely and enjoyable. It has a private parking lot and an outside cute area. The village has a restaurant and one grocery store.

Disliked · Its not easy to reach, and the accomodation doesn't have any type of transfer. . Its far from Madalena (main city) and the airport. I arrived by boat and I had to pick up taxi to reach it. 33km. The bus company doesn't travel often (two times a day).

Lovely place. Good value for money. I would stay there again.

We had a nice stay at the Pico da Saudade. We were particularly impressed by the breakfast and the kindness and helpfulness of the hosts. It was a pity that our room was very individual from the location and the house or upstairs was very bright.

Great breakfast, lovely host

We spent four nights at the Pico da Saudade and enjoyed everything around us, the delicious breakfast, the clean rooms, the comfortable beds and a really nice big shower.

Great guest house, everything you need in a wonderful environment

When we stayed on Pico, this was our accommodation. It is a very beautifully renovated old winery. Our room was large and you feel very comfortable. There is a large room where you can read or watch TV. Everything is very cozy. Breakfast is good and sufficient. We also probably had the rare luck of being the only guests on our travel dates that we enjoyed extremely well. But.... as a tip for all travelers: there are no restaurants nearby.

Very nice B&B

Clean room with private bathroom. Good quality WiFi. Varied breakfast. The gentleman who received me spoke excellent French. No difficulty in parking in the village. There are even two parking spaces in front of the house. Good situation in a quiet village with a view of the sea and the island of Sao Jorge. On the other hand, it is better to have a vehicle because in this island public transport is not convenient, especially when you arrive at 9 o'clock in the village or the only restaurant and grocery store are closed at that time

I'm good.

The only drawback is the lack of staff during the day and night (the reception desk left us phone numbers if necessary) the area is very quiet but a little isolated and if there was someone to give us some additional information it would have been helpful since there are not many restaurants and shops in the area and you have to move at least a dozen kilometers to find them.

Very nice room (booking suite). Quiet area, unfortunately no really useful restaurants in the area. Breakfast sufficient, very nice staff. Nice, well-run boarding house with integrated wine bar.

Super pension

It's beautiful in appearance...then it's a shame for some minor shortcomings (like no hair dryer in the room or warm milk in the morning).

7 less encouragement

It is a very well-restored structure (in the past it was an old hospital) about twenty minutes from the main city (Madalena). The rooms are clean and equipped with television and wireless. On the ground floor there is a cellar that offers for sale local wine with the possibility of tasting. Breakfast is abundant and offers typical local products and is served in a local that reminds a lot of the home kitchen. The only particularity is that (we do not quite understand if it was a temporary shortage of staff or if it is managed just like this) apart from breakfast, for the rest of the day the hotel is open without any prescription from the owners or staff.
