Me and my wife stayed here for four days and enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The host was very welcoming and gave us good tips where to eat and what to see. The breakfast was beautifully layed out and while simple it certainly had all we needed (bread, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, coffee etc). The pool area and garden were beautiful and I enjoyed the complimentary billiards table as well.

Friendly host, beautiful place

Lovely traditional quinta set in lush gardens with original features. Nice breakfast and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Excellent place to access the north west of the island. Roomy accommodation. Three friendly dogs too.

Beautiful place

We were guests of the facility for our honeymoon for ten days from 12 to 22 September 2017....which says Anselmo the owner is very kind to advise you book the car if you want maximum availability. The facility is an old farmhouse with various accommodations, we were in the Adega a small independent house with 2 rooms and a very special cuisine in Azores style, full immersion in the life of once....the breakfast in the morning is served in a room that looks like a museum, a nice swimming pool with annex a facility where you can make roasted meat or other...and you can dine with ocean view..Excellent recommended if you go to Sao Miguel...Very good Anselmo

A great one-way spot to tour the island.

It's a beautiful yard with several houses. It's a beautiful swimming pool with a beautiful terrace. There's a fitness studio and a pool table. The whole facility is Uralt, from several generations, which is very interesting to watch. There are grapes growing everywhere and there's a beautiful view from the yard on Sete Cidades. The owner's daughter is very nice. The disadvantages: the smell of furniture is a matter of taste. There's no WiFi in the room. Dogs and cats are walking through the yard (my girlfriend liked it, but not). The car can only be parked outside the street. We had a kitchen, but unfortunately there's a lot of old food there. There's no snowboard, there's no fridge and there's no spinach, etc. I shouldn't have gotten to the bathroom. I shouldn't have gotten to the bed.

Modernisation would not have hurt

We felt very welcome thanks to Anselmo in his very nice property. All equipped with a common swimming pool, barbecue and kitchen. Good breakfast with local products is served in a nicely antique decorated room which used to serve for production of wine. Our room was relatively small but cosy. The location is quite good to explore the Western and central part of the island (Sete Cidades etc.)
I give it four stars plus one for the adorable dogs Neko and Marley (+plus the newcomer puppy which wasn't named yet :)

Very good stay at Anselmo's!

Very nice place to spend few days, or more. The quinta is built in 18xx and remade into a B&B with great taste and choice of furniture, keeping alive the atmosphere of the period in all details. Modern commodities are also there and owners are beautiful persons, taking really good care of their guests. You get a family feeling and are treated like a family member. It reminded me of vacations spent at my grandparents when I was a kid. The cottages are placed inside a vast courtyard, surrounded by vegetation, there is a pool with lounges and barbecue, two common halls rustically furnished with everything to spend a nice evening with other guests, a little gym, etc. The owner will be more than happy to borrow you a bike or call one of the tourism agencies to arrange everything from swimming with dolphins and fishing to car rental. If you are in Sao Vicente for the evening or lunch make sure to try out Solar Rei dos Frangos restaurant just maybe 600m from the quinta! We just finished our vacation in Sao Miguel and are already looking forward to come back,not in small measure due to Anselmo and his beautiful family.

Little piece of heaven

Despite the busy street itself, you can say that you live in a quiet inner courtyard, which includes a very beautifully landscaped garden. In addition, you have access to the large pool, including beds and seating facilities, as well as a roof terrace overlooking the sea. The owners were very friendly and hospitable and responded to all sorts of questions. The rental car could be parked in the yard. Two excellent restaurants can be found nearby and the sea and swimming facilities are just a short walk away. Tenants should like dogs and cats. Despite these manners, these animals were in good health and active around a yard. Unfortunately, these animals can be extremely loudly barking and barking. Unfortunately, some extreme problems of the ownership were not found in the yard.

Family accommodation for animal lovers

If you like cockroaches and fleas, this is the place for you! Large rooms but very very dirty, antique furniture but neglected and dusty. Wet and locked everywhere. Dangerous the presence of fleas that can transmit many diseases. We have been attacked by fleas in bed and now we have to undergo a disinfection. But what an excellent structure!!!

So much kindness but little hygiene

The quinta was hard to find (at the corner between Rua da Igreja and the EN 1-1A road). When we got home, the landscaped garden made a good impression in front of the main house terrace. Only our accommodation was not there, it was further away, isolated next to the parking lot: dark, smelling of the enclosed and mold in the bathroom, small kitchen and nothing to wash dishes or wipe and a 2 seat bed so hard that I had a bad back all the time (and bad sleep in the passage). Otherwise, very old decoration and furnishings (the owner's confessed passion), a nice room decent with a castle but too small, with a nice wine-flavored bathroom offered by the owner of the house ), but the outdoor pool was very close to the hotel, but in the right frame of time, the living room was very bad.

For old age lovers and with a strong back

I and my family (two adults and two children) stayed here for 15 days on horseback between August and September 2013. The structure is very rural, the rooms are large and the breakfast is excellent, the very friendly owners should just take a little more care of the room layout (there was always a bit of a smell of closure), for the rest a wonder... Do you know the first Jurassic Park?
