We had a room with the sea view. When you enter the lobby everything is nice and it smells good. Outside they were busy with some touch ups of the building. After entering the room I was shocked. To our travel agency we asked luxery to end our holiday. The only luxery there was, was the sea view. The bathroom ceiling was full of mold, every time we entered our room we smelled the mold, it was terrible. Also the door of the bathroom was all cracked up probably because of the humidity in the bathroom. The bed is hard and cracks by every little movement. The walls are so thin that every time your neighbor says something you can join the conversation. The paint was getting off the wall at several places and rusty spots at a few places. The manager promised us to bring breakfast in the evening because we had to leave early the next morning for an activity. But she gave the housekeeping the wrong day, so we didn’t get the breakfast. We tried to call the manager Francisca 6 times during the day at several times to discuss our problems with the room but she didn’t answer the phone. Also our agency tried to call her twice and left a mail. The next day our agency arranged another hotel for us. The housekeeping showed us another room before we checked out. They cleaned another room for us, without mold in the bathroom. But for us it were already to many things and it was also my birthday so I was done with it. Honestly the only thing that was good in this hotel were the housekeeping twins, they were kind and really wanted to help us. 

Bad experience

This lodge is a true jewel, you don't need to look any further, just book it, and you will not have any regrets!! It's like a retreat - peaceful, superb views, comfortable rooms, and super friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend it!!!

Absolutely love it!!!

Everything was amazingly well prepared, organized and designed. We liked the check-in process (a detailed instruction was sent well in advance), the location (amazing view over the Atlantic Ocean, rather short ride from the town nearby and from PDL airport), the food (we used breakfast option - it was really plentiful and the quality of ingredients was very, very high), the hosts (we managed to meet them face to face - they were super nice folks who are really helpful).
The room was clean, the kitchen - well equipped, the atmosphere was outstanding. There was a swimming pool and sunbeds were available.
We will book here again in a heartbeat.

There is really nothing I would complain about. Maybe just a few points of advice for the hosts:
- replace single-unit shampoos with dispensers (will likely reduce unit price and it's more eco-friendly than a non-refillable plastic package)
- advertise the rooftop terrace better - we fond it by mistake, but it is of course something that I would consider a huge value for warm Summer nights.

This property is amazing - beautiful views, private location, relaxing suites. Everything is self-accessible through lock boxes, emphasizing the privacy and solitude of the property. A car is a must to access this property, as well as to get anywhere else for meals or activities. Host is very nice and accessible through messaging if needed. 

We stayed in the Boca Negra suite which was upstairs, at the end / on the corner, with an amazing 180* balcony view of the water and up the coast. Rooms are spacious and decorated with a minimalistic design style. There is a pool behind the property, as well as a rooftop balcony, available for all guests. I would have loved to stay here for a full week in the summer with nothing but a good book and some wine!

Beautiful private oasis

STOP comparing hotels and weighing your options and book Sao Vicente Lodge immediately. Unless you need the hustle and bustle of a city or town, you won't be disappointed!

This is perhaps my favorite accommodation I have ever stayed in. The view and sound from the ocean-facing rooms are spectacular. Every evening, after an adventure-packed day, I enjoyed a glass of wine staring out at the waves crashing against the volcanic rock cliffs below my balcony. If you happen to have a room without a view, the roof of the lodge offers even better views (360 views of the ocean and cliffs, countryside, and mountains) than the individual rooms so you won't miss out! This lodge is the ultimate in relaxation and peace.

The rooms come equipped with a small fridge, stove, sink, and dishes/silverware. Every morning I was greeted in my room by a lovely breakfast basket filled with warm rolls, meat and cheese, yogurt, juice, milk, and other delights. Joel and Lilia are incredibly warm and hospitable and helpful. They really went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect.

I will definitely be back!

Absolutely Perfect!

Amazing property with views to die for. Super friendly staff and one of the comfiest rooms I have stayed at. breakfast on your balcony is just perfect.  You feel like you are the only guest at the hotel and even though we arrived super late, details to check in were provided flawlessly. Absolutely recommend it. Also it's not too far from most attractions on the island.

Amazing

Enjoyed our stay at the lodge very much! We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and living space. Every room at the lodge has access to the pool that is in the backyard and individual patio sets. Great for multiple guests and families since there is so much space in each room.

We barely saw anyone else, including lodge staff, throughout our entire stay which was relaxing. Also, the lodge has automatic gates for security which can only be accessed by guests. Check in is all self service but easy none the less (access code to pick up your key in a lock box). 

Highly suggest getting a car as the lodge is secluded but a quick drive to a beaches, hiking trails, and various towns. Furnas was ~45 minutes from lodge.
