We were concerned when driving to this hotel as it was so out of the way- however the rooms, restaurant, and pool area were extremely clean. The lounge chairs around the pool were new and comfortable and the landscaping and building were well kept with a fresh coat of paint. The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable including making us lunch and dinner which were very good.

Great stay - friendly service!

Worth the drive for a one night stay.  I’ve frequent many hotels and The Village Inn Hotel hit it out of the park!!!  This place is has to be the cleanest property I’ve ever stayed on.  Nice pool to hang out in. Nice restaurant, food was delicious!!  The room was very cozy!   Definitely will pass this place along to my fellow travelers. A+++ for me!!!!

Wonderful Stay at The Village Inn.

No frills, kind of disappointed.  If you are looking for friendly service, a clean and comfortable room, and comfortable beds.. they have you covered. There is a touch of false advertising in the fact that there is no hot tub ( no heat) and there is a solo employee in charge of cleaning rooms, checking you in, running the bar, and cooking food for the restaurant. This leads to 2 hrs for food. Not the employees fault AT ALL as they try their best, with apologies, and a smile.. but shame on the owners. For the price, you can 1000% find a place with a functioning hot tub, and functional bar.

Comfortable but false advertising.

We needed a place to arrive at late in the evening after our hotel that was adequate. We didn't want to pay a ton of money for somewhere we would just sleep on the first night. We arrived and the place wasn't that far from the airport. It was fine for a night's sleep and would probably due for a vacay if you needed to be in that area. I liked seeing the residential area and being awakened by tons of birds. We left as soon as we got moving in the morning and ate along our route since I don't think there was food at the hotel.

The rooms are very small, nobody really cleans bird poop in the pool and all over the balconies. I had to literally clean the pool myself as well as the other guest to use it, while staff watched us do it! 4 days there and never once did I see a worker clean that POOL .The sheets were stained, we didn’t have WiFi cause the workers didn’t know the password. Workers not very helpful and don’t really speak English stray dogs all over property one chased me. Was there for 4 days never got asked if my room needed to be clean had to clean it myself and get trash bags from them myself, even after calling them up to the room to show them the stained sheets the workers would NOT come up! People smoking cigarettes all over property! No toiletries are included except for paper toilet area NOT safe! No gate no nothing workers leave at 2 or 3 am and then ur basically on your own in a very bad neighborhood!!! No stores nothing convenient around everything is like half hour to hour away from the MOTEL.  There were huge puddles of water around my room over all don’t recommend!

False advertisement!!

Beautiful facility in the “outer” skirts of San Juan in Carolina which is about 20 minutes away from the airport (SJU). It’s about a 4 km drive once you get off the highway into the hills of the city. Our room was studio style, 3rd floor with no elevator so keep that in mind. Hot water & air conditioning were both available which is great. Free parking on the premises, highly suggest a car if you plan to be in San Juan. There was WiFi available however I have Sprint and from our room I was never really able to access it, my boyfriend has Metro and his service worked like a champ coupled with their WiFi. Very friendly staff upon check in. Would definitely recommend & stay here again. 

I know a review said this was “the ghetto” part of Puerto Rico & I’ll say that was not our experience. It wasn’t the hotel district but the facility & area aren’t ghetto in the least & we felt safe our entire visit.

Pleasantly surprised 

I was recently in Puerto Rico for disaster relief.  This hotel had no electricity, no water, no top sheet, no towel and no internet.  They had the gall to charge $179 a night and would not refund when I got there and found out.  I only found out when I was shown my room and had signed all the papers.  

I know the hurricane damaged a lot of buildings and they were not ready for business.  I should have told me before I reserved.  

They had no interest in helping their neighbors during a crisis.  It was shameful and to this day I am still fighting to get my money back since they wasted no time to run my credit card,  This place is nothing like their photos.

Please if you are going to Puerto Rico to help the people in crisis ... do not stay here.  You will only be padding the pockets of thieves.

This, of course, is only my opinion.

Dont stay here

The hotel is a small inn with a few rooms so nice if you don't want to stay at a large hotel.
We stayed here after Hurricane Maria and facility did have some damage but this review does not take into account that damage.  We did have water a few hours a day and electricity from generator beginning around 7pm to about 7-8am so this was a PLUS as air conditioning was available during the evening.  Under the circumstances they attempted to accommodate as best as possible as we so appreciated their efforts as lodging was limited in and around the San Juan area.
The facilities need to be renovated as many things need to be repaired or updated else I would have given at least 3 stars.
The location was being used by the local children, young and teenagers, to meet, charge their cell phones (due to lack of electricity), and blocked pathways which I thought was inappropriate, etc.  The noise in the mornings with employees screaming across the facility or non paying guests hanging around the areas was inconsiderate to the few guests staying at the hotel.  Due to Hurricane Maria, several of the rooms were being used by the owner/manager and family so they could have water and electricity which they couldn't get in their homes.  This is fine but the hotel was still being used for guests and consideration for several key customer service areas should have been recognized.

Needs a lot of renovation

I Love Puerto Rico, but the fact that many places want to Tax you for breathing is a Real Turn Off. The Village Inn is Not that kind of place! Thank God you can still enjoy the comfort of country and stay near the airport at the same time without getting Taxed and Surcharged to death.The staff is super friendly and the Inn is very clean, the only thing they need is small restaurant and it would be Great. I usually stay at another inn near Isla Verde, but I'm glad I found another Inn with very good rates and no extra taxes or surcharges. Thank you Village Inn for a Safe stay.
