We stayed on Vieques, and at the Seagate for three nights.  I really wish it had been longer.  The Seagate has such a homey feeling, and was absolutely perfect for our family of 4.  My son loved greeting the horses every time he walked past them, and also spent hours in the little pool.  We stayed in one of the family suites.  Seagate is the perfect location to use as a home base while exploring the island.  We had the pleasure of spending time with both Penny and Kelly.  Both are wonderful and friendly people, and so willing to share the story of their hotel as well as give lots of tips and recommendations.  I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone considering a stay on Vieques, and would absolutely return myself.  My entire family was sad when it was time to catch the ferry.

Perfect three days

We could not have asked for friendlier and more comfortable accommodations for this overnight island experience. Kelly our hostess went out of her way to make sure our trip was flawless! We enjoyed the cottage and surrounding amenities. We walked into town to have dinner at a recommended local restaurant and enjoyed the surrounding location nestled right above the historic Fort Conde de Mirasol and overlooking the town. I recommend at least 2 nights at this lovely hotel.

Perfect Getaway on Vieques !

Staying at SeaGate is like staying with good friends.  The grounds and views are beautiful, the hospitality unrivaled and location excellent.  The horseback riding with Ruben was great and the breakfasts a nice touch. Thanks Kelly & Penny and team for making our Vieques visit so wonderful.

Great Stay at SeaGate

Great villa-like property ensconced in greenery at the top of a steep hill with views of the lush surroundings and the water. From our second floor unit with expansive veranda we could count the giant iguanas in the surrounding trees, as well as the horses and chickens below. (Note, you will hear the roosters crowing all night.) Room was very comfortable and wonderfully furnished like someone's home. Very friendly and helpful owners. One note for  big breakfast eaters, the continental breakfast served is very much on the light side, so you might want to head down the hill to a place like D'Frozz on Calle Muñoz Rivera.

Villa-like property ensconced in greenery

We only stayed for one night and wish we could have stayed for more. Penny and Kelly who operate the property are wonderful hosts. Penny gave us a map with plenty of suggestions on places to visit and offered a nice litte breakfast. Our unit was clean and comfortable and the entire property is beautiful. Best of all was the view from our very large balcony from which we could look down at the horses on the property, watch the many iguanas in the trees, and look at the ocean in the distance. The only downside was the roosters who are very vocal and start very early in the morning. We will definitely stay there again if we are ever in Puerto Rico.

Wonderful Place to Stay

The Seagate hotel is absolutely perfect!  This is the spot for stunning views and a great unique hotel that is not cookie cutter.  Kelly and Penny are superb hosts who go out of their way to make sure their guests are taken care of.  The history of this family run spot is great and the love shows throughout.  This is the spot to truly appreciate the laid back vibe of Vieques.   This is not a chain hotel and if that is what you are looking for you should skip Vieques all together.  But if you want to visit a truly magical place then take the ferry from the main island and enjoy the charm of Vieques.  Wild horses and roosters roam throughout the island, the beaches are pristine and the food is great.  Do not try to do Vieques in a one night stay.  The absolute minimum you should do is 2 nights but best would be 3 or more, you won't be sorry!  Thanks Kelly for a great time.

Paradise Found

We had the room 4 and the room is very clean and homey with all the current amenities of AC, TV and Wifi.
the place is an estate that turn to hotel.  Penny and Kelley are a very kind and gracious host.  both are the estate owner.  We stayed for 2 nights and i wish i could have stayed longer and just stay in the rest of the time.  Beautiful sunset and sunrise from the room 4.  They have horseback riding available too.

awesome view and great vibe

My biggest regret is that we didn't stay longer. We did a quick overnight here because my husband and I were doing the biobay tour and needed accommodations. All I was looking for was a place with a bed and a bathroom and the Seagate is so much more than that! Welcoming staff, gorgeous vistas, and a peaceful dipping pool where we relaxed after our tour and just listened to the birds and frogs. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. It's a quick 15ish minute walk from the ferry but be warned the road is steep in places. There are also loose dogs but they were all bark.

Clean and comfortable stay!

We stayed for a few days last week and really enjoyed it. Clean and comfortable rooms with kitchenette and outstanding views of the bay. Amazing sunrises. Fun horse rides and excellent service by staff. They are very accommodating. Cant wait to go back.

Breathtaking views

What a charming hotel on the island of Vieques! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The property provides its own bananas and eggs, which are part of the light continental breakfast that comes with your room.  There are horses and chickens on the property and apparently Puerto Rican chickens crow at all times of the day and night.  LOL  Nothing a set of earplugs can't take care of. I would highly recommend staying here.
