The food was much better than what you usually find in Romania. The location is great. The rooms were comfortable and quiet.
This is a great place to come with kids, as they can play around on their own whilst being in a safe environment. Quite relaxing for the parents.

Best restaurant around

We were a group of friends visiting Avrig for 1 day. The owner of the house we've rented there recommended us to eat at this location and it was excellent. The quality of food is the best, nice service, tasty food and big portions (we had 2 traditional plateau and 1 mix grill&salad for 4 persons, which actually were for like 6-7 ppl)

We also had buffet breakfast in the morning (10 adults, 7 children). Everythisn was tasty and local: bread, tomatoes, eggs, cheese, eggplant salad etc.

I highly recommend it!

One of the best restaurants in the area

The place looks like a corner of a fairytale. Everything is made and managed with lot of care. The rooms, the furniture, the care for the detalis. The staff is very kind and they will do everything to please you. The food is one of the best in the area, everything fresh and very tasty.  They also have horse stud, a very modernd and well cared one. The prices are low comparing with the quality the offer. It is a place that makes you want to come back over and over again.

friendly and professional staff, in a place where the menu is traditional and classic, along with local and normal drinks ... terrace overlooking the highest mountains in the country .... possibilities of accommodation in any season ...

We did not sleep at this pension, we have chosen the accommodation at Pensiunea Natura, but we came three times at Pensiunea Ghiocelul: once to have lunch three years ago, which was ok and two times for the horse riding trips. We enjoyed the trips, it is a nice experience to interact with these gorgeous and noble animals and also enjoy time spend in the middle of the nature.
The hat and the things you put on are not clean, they could be cleaned a little bit after each trip, before being uses by the next customer.
Nelutu is quite friendly and he tries to help everyone.
Would recommend it for horse riding. 

Horse riding

The service was very good and fast and also the waiter was very helpful.
The food was good but not great, nothing special.
Prices are ok.
The cleaning of the tables, cutlery and so on can be improved.
It’s one alternative to eat in Avrig.

The place looks nice and the food is ok. I went there for a walk into the woods, with the horses.  They are way too exploited and so tired. I wanted to cancel my appointment just because I've seen them going over and over again into the woods, with no breaks. Business is business but those poor animals should be considered, too.

Went there for a horse riding trip

I made the reservation to take the kids horseback riding - equestrian tourism. I paid in advance, as requested, one night's accommodation for each apartment booked. We also booked horse riding outings with date, time, rider level and number of participants. I requested payment by holiday card and it was accepted.
Arriving at the location in the evening, we found out that the apartments were occupied and we were relocated to another guesthouse. The riding appointments were not real and it was not said that we would see the next day.
We stayed at the new location they sent us to and came back in the morning! We managed to do the riding lessons we had booked that day.
I explained to the owner and he didn't seem to understand what happened.
It was the stay where we were so disrespected that things were getting out of control.
In conclusion: reservations and appointments are indicative! The indifference of the host goes beyond the limits, and the guests suffer!
I recommend avoiding this location!

Bad experience! Very bad!

Never again. We ordered socata to drink. It had no taste, just a lot of sugar. Our food came after an hour. The mici that we ordered were burnt and didn't taste good. We also had papanasi,.When our papansi came we said that we also want to pay. We waited more than half an hour to pay,nobody came. We had to go to the restaurant to pay. So more than 2 hours for mici and papanas. We will never go there again, I recommend to no one

Never again,to avoid

Waited for more than 20 minutes and nobody came to take our order. The table and benches were dirty, the place was generally disorganised and noisy, the parking lot is very small and parking a car can be quite a challenge. The garden is right next to the road and the traffic is really loud.
