Nice staff, big room for three, elevator, parking, good internet, nice breakfast, restaurant, near the river, I didn't like the lack of a curtain in the bathroom, the building near the hotel.

It's all good.

We booked Diana Hotel for a one-night stay due to a few reasons: it was just on the  route back home from our vacation in Italy, it looked nice in the property pics, it was described as a non-smoking hotel, it has a free parking lot, and it has a restaurant where we could have dinner upon arrival and free breakfast before carrying on our trip.  While booking, I placed a special request for a quiet room as we needed a good night sleep before an early rise. On the positive side, our double room had a pretty nice view of the mountains of northern Transylvania, at a distance though, and the neighborhood looked quite peaceful. The other thing was the dinner in the on-site restaurant where we were offered traditional Romanian cuisine meals and local dry wine. On the negative side, the parking lot turned out to be just a small area between the busy road and the hotel front wall, which can't be called a secure parking facility. I can't say that the hotel and the room were dirty but everything looked really outdated and in bad need of renovation. As a whole, the hotel and the restaurant looked so deserted that we thought that we were the only guests there. But at about midnight we were woken up by loud talks and laughter and smell of smoking coming from the downstairs room through an open balcony door. We came out to the balcony and asked the downstairs neighbours to keep quiet but the men replied in Romanian that they had paid for the room and could do whatever they wanted. So we just had to shut our balcony door, switch on the AC and try to go to sleep again. In the morning I reminded the receptionist of my special request for a quiet room which they promised to provide and which is not such a big favour taking in consideration plenty of empty rooms on the four floors of the hotel. The receptionist just raised his eyebows and said nothing. Of course, we'll never ever stay in Diana Hotel and we wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Not as nice as in the hotel description

The hotel is located on the edge of the city. It is a little far from the center. It is a huge building with many rooms. These are functional, nothing more. The hotel service is correct. There is also a huge restaurant with a huge map. But in practice the choice is limited to one or two dishes!

A little old hotel.

I will not consume to much time reviewing this ugly place. Totally to avoid. It's filthy, smelly, nothing nice, or clean or inviting. If there weren't the group we have travelled with we would never stay in this hotel. No clean towels, the power was out several times, the frige not working. We had no courage to try the breakfast... A total dump. It is used mainly to host the workers from factory from the area. Never think to go there!

Nightmare hotel, horrible location

The hallways smell at least of cat urine and mold, very intensely! The rooms are small and spacious. The reception is basic and courteous but the hallway also smells, among other things, of smoke. The breakfast restaurant is huge and discreet, Soviet-style, and only the best kitchen reduces the night's hassle, provided you have already left the room and go to the basement to brush your teeth before you leave or run away after the abundant breakfast.

A horror and an unbearable stench

The rooms are old, the walls are dirty, old carpet, cheap beds and furniture. We have travelled during winter and the room was cold. The overall impression is that the hotel rooms are no longer maintained. Make yourself a favor and avoid this hotel.

Avoid this hotel

The Hotel Diana is in a good position for those who stop only to sleep because it is right on the main directory that crosses Bistrita and a little outside the city centre.

Comfortable for a night's sleep

I was staying at this hotel in july. It was very annoying at the beginning because the room i was suposed to stay in was dirty. I got back to the reception desk and i was given 6 diferrent rooms until I got one cleaned. 
Although, the room was ok. It had air conditioning, television, fridge, telephone, wi-fi.
Breakfast was ok, but a poor choice of food.

Everything in the description looked very good and tempting. When I arrived, the hotel was in the middle of nowhere, contrary to the announcement that there should only be rooms with breakfast, not without. The room I visited before was quite cool and smelled terrible of cold cigarette smoke. The spa, fitness and sauna area was closed. The arrangement of green plants before the entrance suggested that this is always the case. With this miserable overall impression, I preferred to look for another hotel in the city.

I'm going to continue.
