We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Poveste for the New Year's.

The food was absolutely fantastic - truely authentic dishes from Bucovina.

The accomodation was clean and combined perfectly the old with the comfort of the new.

The views were out of this world - check the photo out.

We went skying - very close to the accomodation.

P.S. Great strong traditional alcoholic drinks!

I’ve spent at Casa Poveste the last weekend for 2 nights and I must say it was an incredible experience. From the hosts, staff to the food. The location consists of 5 refurbished traditional house that look incredible and preserve the architecture and design of the region from over 150 years ago. The room are very cozy and warm, we slept very well! The bathroom was small, but chique and most important functional!

The owners and staff were very warm and very welcoming people, they are always trying to make you feel at home and being always available to help with whatever you'd need. The food is an entire story in itself. Very tasty, authentically local, abundant and home made.

Will be returning when available and bring along family and friends.

Highly recommend it the location.

Amazing location

We found our room with dirty-used sheets and a dirty bathroom. We found the owner at the reception and he was very offended about our request for a clean room. He told us he doesn't have any more rooms and we have to wait until tomorrow when the cleaning lady comes. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!
Putting that aside, at the restaurant we were served cold food without taste. 
There was a group of tourist near us and we heard them also complain about the rooms.
The second day we asked again at the reception for clean sheets and the lady told us that there's no problem with the sheets without even seeing them and  that the rooms was very clean when we arrived.
If you value your holiday find another accomodation in the area

The WORST accomodation EVER!!

The accomodation is ok, but on the property lists thet their rooms have soundproofing and this is not the case. You can hear everyone in the house you have the accomodation in. Also, I requested  an extra blanket - and I was told that they donțt have such a thing.. for a 75 euro / night stay I say that this is a basic thing. Also, the wi-fi  did not work / was very poor - and when I asked the host to fix it they asked me instead why it wasn t working. The food is ok - but the same breakfast every day. The dinner was good but nothing special.  Also, they need more organisation with their restaurant. The food was late - more than an hour ( and we were told at the property to try to be exactly on time for dinner, and then, they were overwhelmed and couldn t manage all the guests).  Deffinitely needs improvement of theur customer service!

Overpriced

Impressed by the view and the beautiful museum houses.The details are perfect. So many old and traditional objects. I don't recommend to go with children.It is not a place for kids... the playground equipment was broken and a little dirty. We stayed four nights and the breakfast was poor, the same every morning(a few slices of meat,cheese,tomatoes,cucumbers,and pancakes)The dinner was also poor and overpriced 15 euro/person fixed. It was ok, but this accommodation needs a lot of improvement.

A nice concept but many things to improve...

First of all, it's really overpriced, they have really big prices for what they offer. It's a place wanna be, they pretend to offer an authentic experience but sincerely, are many things to improve over there. The food at the dinner is good but nothing so out of the order or spectacular for the price they ask. Then the  rooms....... in the bathroom is an horrible smell and lots of chalk in the shower and the water smells horrible.  
Secondly, we booked 2 standard rooms and 1 superior and we have paid for 2 superior in the end. 
In the room you hear everything but absolutely everything the neighbours are doing or saying. In the garden are many things that shouldn't be there.... they have lots of old furniture and cars that should be refurbished and everyone sees them. In my opinion is not nice. 
In the end, I do not recommend it because we felt like they are selling ilusions on the internet and the reality is far away from what they wanted to be. There are so many good places to visit and stay in Romania but this one is not one of them.

Do not recommend

Dream location in an exceptional natural setting.  Traditional houses which have been relocated from the region and tastefully refurbished.  The decorations are exceptional and the owners gladly share the story of each object.  Very friendly reception, excellent food made with delicious products from the region. It is a very quiet place ideal for families with small kids and for couples looking for a relaxing gateway close to nature. There is decent list of activities to do in the nearby and in the region. I would come back again. Thanks again for the hospitality

Totally under charm

Very nice place to stay for one night or more. We've been there four times and we haven't had enough of it. Very kind and helpfull staff and very good food. It may look expensive for Romania but it worths all the money. The place is close to Rarău Mountains, so it's ideal for a day trip to the top.

Casa poveste - un loc de poveste

Before the quarantine period, I decided to come back to Romania ( from the UK) and go away for the weekend with my girlfriend and parents. I wanted to present my girlfriend to an authentic Romanian experience and this is how I ended up at Casa Poveste in Bucovina. The concept of refurbished houses that were given new life by the Pension owners is an incredible idea! 
Initially I was a bit sceptical due to some reviews, but I must say the experience at Casa Poveste was incredible. The food was amazing and traditional. We sat on the porch of the house and had our dinner. It was amazing, I felt like a king! Sitting outside enjoying the warm weather, beautiful landscape, spending quality time with the family and having dinner. The rooms were beautifully decorated and beds were very comfortable. We could hear a bit our neighbours, however this was not an issue for us, the experience of living for a few days in a traditional Romanian house it worth it!

We did not visit very much, since a lot of touristic attractions were closed, however we went hiking on Rarau Mountain, Slatioara Natural reservation and on the hills around the Pension. 

I definitely recommend having the dinner package. 15 Euro you get starter, soup, main course, desert and drinks (water, wine and traditional Romanian hard liquor).

Casa poveste

We were amongst their first customers after the end of the lockdown. The staff was very warm and welcoming, wearing gloves and masks.

Let's start with the food. It was simply amazing. Living abroad, I really missed the taste of some well-cooked Romanian dishes. Due to the pandemic, they were serving the food through room service and we had an excellent brunch in bed.

The area is from a fairytale.  Rarau and Giumalau heights are a must - there's a lot of friendly climbing areas to reach them.

The accommodation was great: quiet and very comfortable. We slept like kings in those beautifully refurbished traditional houses. Definitely a stunning concept.

Overall, it was an amazingly authentic experience and would love to come back with my girlfriend there. We really needed a weekend out of the city and we made the right decision.
