This was a super stay. We were here for 3 nights and it is such an authentic experience of a traditional Romanian inn. The owners Yov & Maria are the kindest sweetest most fun but also discreet trustworthy people and you feel safe and welcome in their beautiful place. The grounds are well kept and great for relaxing or for kids to run around safely. The rooms are basic but uniquely decorated and clean. 
The home cooking by Maria was lovely to taste regional food and her soups are especially delicious. Would stay here anytime I was in the region and recommend thoroughly for couples, friends or families.

A place of fairy tale where the time stood stil, a welcoming family awaits you with the laid table. The rooms preserve the tradition of the place.
The food is organic and you can not eat everything you put on the table. A place where you can relax with friends or family.

Experiencing the Romanian tradition

This location is so great and cozy. It's so nice because the host is very friendly, and the rooms are amazing!Here you can visit a museum, and have nice hikes!Everything is good here and super clean! I love it! 

Best place ever in Maramures! 

It's kind of remote, but this is a plus, because it is quiet. The hosts are awesome. The rooms are warm and comfortable. We stayed here last year as well, in March, and were equally pleased with the service, the food and the surroundings.

best place to stay in the area

We found this pension at short notice after another reservation was mistakenly cancelled, and we were very happy to have done so. The village is very rural, a few kilometers south of Targu Lapus in southern Maramures; the pension is simple and rustic but comfortable and provides meals (breakfast and dinner) if wanted, also drinks (wine, beer, etc.). The decor is lovely, with traditional ceramics and textiles. The owner speaks French as well as Romanian, but we were certainly the only non-Romanians staying there. It was a truly 'rural Romania' experience.
