From the moment they met as at Crisan's ferry port to the moment they waved us off the family who run Casa Bogdan could not have been more friendly and helpful. Contrary to the prevoius reviewer I found this guesthouse to be excellent vaue. the measl were home-cooked, generous and tasty; including linteresting ocal produce like quails eggs at breakfast and perfectly cooked catfish for dinner. The boat trip which the family arranged for us for birdwatching was also enjoyable and great value. It is not a luxury five star place where all staff speak perfect English - that is true. Rather it is a friendly family run small guesthouse where the owners take pride in what they offer, in where they live and in local produce. In other words it is small scale rural tourism at its best and is ideal for those who realy want to meet romanian people and enjoy their culture and cusine in an authentic rather than contrived setting.

Charming family run guesthouse in the heart of the Delta

We visited Casa Bogdan in august 2016 and it was really terrible experience. The staff didn't speak English and everything was so overpriced. They offered us breakfast for 25RON and it was without drink. They charged coffee separately. Dinner was 40RON.Also offered boat trip for 300RON/pers. Normal price is 50-60.We had to leave after few hours due to personal reasons and they tried to charged 2 nights despite to we arrived at 9AM and left 2PM and we could cancel our reservation free of charge until 6PM at the day of arrival. At the end we paid the first night. After that I received email from booking.com, that we were no show and there is penalty of first night... We met many nice people in Romania and most of the locals were kind and helpful. This is the worst experience here, because no one tried to cheat on us so many times in so short time.
