We've only visited the restaurant. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. We tried the tripe soup, beef soup and the "peasant's" potatoes,they were very good, but the sweet cheese and cream pancakes are by far the best we had.

Restaurant Stogu

We eat a few times ar this restaurant. The pices are really low. The food is good. The only thing that is missing is the.smile of the waiter, they are really bored. Also the problem is that inside is smelling of barbeque and smoke from kitchen . Is better to use the outside area.

Still from the check-in moment, the hotel and its staff have impressed us with a warmly welcome from the executive manager and the hotel location.
We have got a standard double room within the quite new built wing of the hotel. It was a roomy room,decent and tasty furnished.
The cleanliness in both the rooms and grounds of the hotel were spotless. The same with the bathroom,spotless and well equiped (less dry hair). The towels are changed every 2-3 days and the bedlinen at the request.
The hotel is located in the midle of the town,opposite the central park of Olanesti town (which ,actualy is a health resort with many springs of therapeutical mineral water for different diseases . The hotel is also lodged on the bank of "Olanesti" river.
The restaurant of the hotel ,together with its lovely terrace,are built just over the river and above the restaurant there was built the new wing of the hotel with some 12 rooms. Very nice overlooking and relaxing listening the murmur of the river, while eating on the terrace.
Most of the guests of this hotel are for physiotherapy and mineral water therapy with recommandation from the doctors.
As for food: you can have either full board,or BB, or a valuable card with 11 euro/day and you can eat / drink at any time what you prefer from the menu. Anyhow, the prices are decent ones.
The food always was fresh,very well cooked and tasty with quite big helpings. For instance, the cake called "papanashi" is so tasty and big enough you merely can eat it..The cooker (Mrs.Vasilica) has provided us with its recipe..
All in all, we have got a relaxing and wonderful vacation.
The hotel is rated at 3 stars,but we would rather consider it over 3 stars with a very kindly and frendly staff ,so that we highly recommend Stogu hotel to other tourists.

A good hotel

If you're planning to explore this region full of mineral water sources, this hotel is a worthwhile host. It is situated right in the middle of the Olanesti balneary resort, a good place to explore this small and quiet place surrounded by forests. Apart from treatment with mineral waters, you can also eat at the restaurant which is pretty good and spacious, and which is situated right across the Olanesti river. You will eventually get used with the water noise, which is only part of nature.

This review concerns only Stogu restaurant!

Panasi were dry, cold, made from a frozen pastry, served under a lot of sour cream in order to cover the fact that the pastry wasn't fresh. The pastry should be crispy and soft, not dry and tasteless. The recipe of papanasi is so basic, it's a shame that it was not respected.

For a local resto, the food was ok, pretty fair for the price. But the serving ...well, that isn't something I recomand. The waiter doesn't show interest for the client (the place wasn't even that crowded). All you can do here is hope and wait for them to help you, serve you, see you etc. etc. Or leave. Unfortunatelly we visited the place in winter, we didn't have too many options.  

Lunch at Stogu restaurant

Noisy rooms and dirty sheets. Shower cabin was leaking water. During the night it was a wedding hosted in the hotel's restaurant; imagine the music playing all night...
Overall the price of 200lei per night with no meal for a DR is too much for this hotel. Very unsatisfying!
The food at the terrace is tasty though.
