Splendid view and garden, amazing spa facilities, very good service and food. I had the spa only for myself and totally loved it, Western Europe standards with no doubt. The prices are quite high, but we didn’t regret it. The location is simply charming. The gym was closed for some reason, which I didn’t like. The staff very professional and helpful, attentive. I totally recommend this place if you want to spend a few relaxing days in the Danube Delta, being very well taken care of and having lots of activities in one single location (outdoor pool, indoor spa, games room, boat trip, etc). I would go back there for sure.

Oasis of relaxation and splendid nature

Really loved this 4 star hotel and have nothing consistent to complain about (that's a first for me).
1. Location is the best thing - quiet, surrounded by canals on two sides, at the verge of the real Danube Delta. It's all water and reed beyond this point. Also one of the furthest point in Delta you can get by car.
2. Hotel is really nice, everything is made with quality and care for details. The garden is beautiful and very well tended. Room is a bit small, but nice and comfortable. Had a great night sleep. Bed and pillows - very comfortable and our room was very quiet (ground floor, facing the back/parking side, not the pool side). AC worked great. Wifi worked so and so.
3. Outdoor pool - clean and great. Although at full capacity, the pool did not feel crowded and there were enough sun beds.  Really liked this, as most pool/spa hotels are awful when working at full capacity. 
4. Spa area - nice, great pool (kinda small), good saunas. The spa is small, but was not crowded in summer.
5. Restaurant - menu had fish specialties and was variate enough for longer stays with foods for all tastes and food was good. Prices were OK.
6. Breakfast - good, not great, but did the job. Maybe, should be better for 4 star. 
7. Getting there - easy access by car, big parking. They have a small marina and the hotel is accessible by boat too. 
8. Good for any kind of trip - couples, families, older tourists, corporate. 
9. Trips in Danube Delta - they offer trips, but I found them quite expensive, if you're not a group. There are options in Dunavat better priced for couples. 
10. Staff - really nice, polite and always ready to help. 
11. Everything was great during our stay!

Perfect for a couple of days of relaxing

We spent 4 days here and it was a very relaxing short break.

On the positives:
- the location is idillic
- the spa is really nice
- the entire place was clean and there was a constant effort to keep it as such
- we had a nice room with an excellent view on the pool and the canal
- the mattress, the pillow, the sheets - all invited you for a good night’s sleep
- the food from the ‘a la carte’ menu is delicious
- we booked a boat and the guy was very knowledgeable - he took us in various places along the canals and showed us the best views/birds

To be improved/not so nice:
- the walls are really thin - we could hear the tv from the next room and every step
- despite the cleanliness there was a bit of mold in the shower
- the breakfast is really average, there is a lot of food but not really at the level of a 4* hotel
- even though there are signs everywhere stating that the mask is compulsory indoors, nobody wears it (the waiters don’t wear a mask, the other guests don’t wear a mask). We were the only family wearing a mask indoor. I didn’t feel safe in closed spaces, especially considering we are in the middle of wave4 of this Covid Pandemic
- the restaurant is pricey - it’s true though that the food is really good and with nice plating (definitely above other places we tested nearby)

I would have probably given a 5* rating if they were more cautious with sanitary restrictions (masks) and if the breakfast included better quality food.

Excellent location but food is average

Is a place with good and nice location, good food, specific for this kind of place, in the midle of Danube Delta. The rooms are big and with all the conditions for a pleasent holiday, pool and restaurant.

Good hotel

Very quite location and good services. The breakfast is good with a plenty of food to choose. The spa and indoor swimming pool are free of charge. . The rooms were clean. 
They have a lot of boats to rent to explore the Danube.

The rooms are really nice, we had a great view, it is really clean. Unfortunatelly, due to covid restrictions, the spa and indoor facilities were closed. The food is not that diverse, so it isn t a good idea to book with food included. My rating is so low due to the restaurant. The food is average, so is the service

The location of the hotel on the edge of the Danube Delta is fantastic, Cleanliness of the hotel and rooms, nice spa and swimming pool, all very good. Breakfast in the bar area is fine. Kitchen (food) is ok, though people prefer to have diner at the terrace because the dining room is not very welcoming. Members of the staff are not all very efficient but they work hard, All in all we liked the hotel. It has just one very big minus: it is organizing boattrips into the Delta in the most stinking polluting diesel boats I have ever been in. I do hope this hotel and the other hotels and parks on the Danube Delta will very soon combine their forces to invest in electrical boats and other environmental friendly ways, as it is now they are killing their main source of income.

NEW Hotel Egreta ..... but for how long?

The location is excelent, but the services are underexpectation, no respect for customers from waiters side, if you want to be sure that you will be served, order twice!
I’m disapointed, the location is wonderful, but is important the customer/traveler 😏.
Next time, i will search another location👍

I have spent 5 days at this place few years ago and the experience was fantastic. Good service good food good wine.
This year except for the location everything has changed.
Food was sub par, we ate one evening and the food was just bad. You would imagine that being surrounded by water they would have good fish. Nope.
We asked one of the waiters if the burgers were done on the grill and he just grinned and said that no restaurant in the world has a grill. WOW.
The personnel was so miserable that were not smiling even though we tipped them very well.
To top it all the manager got very upset when we gave them a bad review on their book.
The best part was the boat guy Cristi.
He is amazing. 

Wise up people!

Not what it used to be

I spent a long week end at New Hotel Egreta in August. Bad choice! I was lucky enough to find a sunbed by the pool in the first day. After that, me and other guests were wandering by the pool looking for a solution. The staff was literally no help! I had seen a couple of sun beds which seemed to be empty so I asked a member of the staff if I could use them. I was told that they were for some friends of the hotel owner!!!! 
The breakfast was the same every single day!
