We did stay overnight to visit the ice cave the next morning.
We did arrive around 4 PM over the small paved road. We did take short fully slim paved route from Garda de Sus. Google did advice the long, also slim, road but that is not needed.
They do not have something as a reception but we after a short search we find the guy who could show the room and give the key. He did not speak English. After diner a English speaking did ask us if we need something. 
We did get a large room on the second floor with 2 beds, shower, toilet and a balcony the newer building. AC was not available and not needed. Downstairs there was a living room, kitchen (not in use), toilets and a terrace on the afternoon sun side.
We did had ordered diner and breakfast. The diner, at 8 PM, was great. Very complete meal including some alcoholic drinks. After diner we did buy some beers. Breakfast, starting at 8:15 AM was very simple; mainly bread with jam and café/thee.
While we were there, mid-September, we did see two other guests. The house
The great point of this place was that it was quiet with late in the afternoon only cow bells. The road was 150m away. Three dogs and a cat were walking around the place. One the dogs did like attention very much.
We did walk 1km over the small road to the ice cave, accompanied all the way by two of the three dogs of the hostel. One of the dogs did wait for us to walk with us on the walk back.
I will strongly recommend this place if you want visit the caves of just enjoy the peaceful environment. We did get very much for very small amount of money.

Very peaceful place

For our family it was a total relaxation staying at Scarisoara, we recommend it especially because of the fantastic view. If you are travelling with small kids ask them for a room in the new building, as in the old one the stairs are very steep (my little one fell twice) We will definitely visit this place again just to relax and eat lots of forest fruits! Thank you Madalina, Iuliana and all the family!

A break from the city

This is the Perfect place to relax. The food is more than great.

Perfect place

Spent two nights here in the serenity of the surrounding forest in a wonderful farm homestay style accommodation.

If you prefer to have your sheets and towels changed every day and someone to cater to your every whim this is not for you. This location was well about the isolation and being that little bit closer to nature. 

The accommodation was good, warm and very clean and practical. The highlight for us though was the food. Every meal was "basic" but it was so hearty and filling. All of it was from the farm, from the fresh milk to the extremely tasty jams. There was more than enough and every meal was something to look forward to.

Surrounded by pockets of forest, you're free to wander off in any direction to walk off your last meal. As it is a working farm you will see the usual animals, chickens, cows, pigs, dogs etc etc. Great place to relax and just enjoy your surroundings.


Fantastic farmstay.

We stayed for 2 nights at this wonderful place. It's the perfect spot to slow down, come to your senses and just enjoy the scenery, walks, visit the ice cave or just sit on a swing listening to the cowbells chime and enjoying the views. The hosts are very friendly, the rooms are simple but very clean, the food is fresh from the garden and by local recipes. Order dinner during the day, and they'll make sure you have wonderful food to spare on the table! Breakfast is also great, with fresh milk from their own cows. The break away from city life.

anything you need and more

I made reservation from time, for 5 nights, for two rooms, I pay in advance for one with twin beds and one with one bed.
The big surprize came when we arrive there and discover the twin bad room it was with a common toillette and shower, also used by the family who lives there.
I demand to have other rooms, exactly like you paid for, after some talks, they other rooms was give to us, normal this time, with a bathroom inside, and we will decide if we will stay there after diner and breakfast.
Another surprise was when we go in the bathroom from camera. The water did not leak in the shower and in the sink. Also it was a heavy smell there.
The only good thing is the food they served there is from there farm, simple dishes but very tasty.
In the next day to we decide to cancel our staing there, we pay for the dinner and breakfast and some compensation for the cancel days, even if they don't respect what they said.
I enter from the kitchen in the way of "the office" to pay, the entire kitchen was a real mess. I realized is a problem of time until a client will make a food poisoning from there.
We was very happy we leave that place.
