Poiana Brasov

We stayed here for a short ski-weekend. Very good position close to gondola and slopes. You can walk (5 minutes) so your car can stay in the parking place in front of the pension (parking included –free of charge). Room a little bit small if you have children (like we do), but if you are a couple then it is just perfect.

Decent accommodation close to the slopes

We had a big room with nice bathroom and fridge, nice and warm and with large windows that could be opened for fresh air. Only complain about the room is that the pillows were really bad so we ended up using our travel neck pillows instead. Also remember: do not throw the toilet paper in the toilet, but in the bin beside. It easily clogs. 

Ski rental in the house, usually helpful staff (some doesn't speak much English). Didn't care much for the breakfast buffet, but was ok. I kind of expected there to be a common sitting room with fireplace (!) but this was not the case. We usually walked up to the Escalade Hotel just 50 meters up the hill to have dinner or sit by a fireplace. Worked well.

Walking distance to the whole Poiana Brasov village/resort - plenty of restaurants, bars, ski slopes, sledding hills, ice skating, climbing and other activities. Loved the place! 

All in all a nice stay that worked out well for us (teenager and myself).

Christmas stay

We spent one week there (1-8 Dec.2018). Location is fantastic! The room was big, clean, warm (despite what I have read on booking). I am not sure that all double rooms are similar. Breakfast was OK (buffet). Nice people ready to help if is needed. The villa has no elevator, but only 2 stories. There are small terraces with chairs and tables, were you can go outside, from the corridor, at each level. Cannot say much about the ground level, my room was at 1st floor. There are also some parking places for the guests. The services were accordingly to the price paid, fair.

Good value for the money

We were staying there at the beginning of May and we were really sorry that we chose to stay only for one night. The place is simple but it has everything you need, plus the host was very helpful. The breakfast was also great.The location is good because it's just several minutes to the lift which takes you to the top of the mountain where you can enjoy a fantastic view. 
I'm not sure if the place is as good in the wintertime, but in spring it was amazing.

Very nice place in the mountains

A very good price ratio for this boarding house. The staff is nice, the rooms are very clean, the breakfast is right. I recommend if you are looking to stay in Poiana Brasov for a reasonable price.

House of Vinga

Great location, kind staff, decent amenities and delicious breakfast served every morning--my family and I enjoyed our week-long stay there. We were close to all points of interest in Poiana Brasov. This is a very convenient place to stay, especially for skiing. Everything is within a few minutes. In the mornings we would wake up and go to the kitchen where a nice granny served us Romanian breakfast (which at the time included a selection of cheeses from local farms). After that, we drove or walked down to the city center through the forest path. Overall had a very good time staying here.

Felt like home

My group of three had an excellent stay in one of Casa Vinga’s suites / apartments. The place was cosy, conveniently located (less than 5 minute walk to both the main bubble lift & the beginner slope) and a great value. The staff were helpful, providing advice about transport, booking tables for dinner around town & even printing our tickets for the return journey home (train & flights). Ji Ji also runs a ski rental shop on site which was incredibly convenient. He and the team got us sized up and on the slopes ASAP, even helping to book private lessons for my wife with an instructor who spoke great English (thanks Alexandre). Thanks to the whole team; we’ll be back!

Cosy Ski Lodge in Poiana Brasov 

We stayed in this House during our stay in Poiana Brasov for one night and we got an apartment; the structure is not very modern, the rooms doors are rather old. Be careful of insects, they could enter the room especially if you leave the window open 😀 The breakfast included was plentiful and offered both sweet and salty and this is very positive 👍🏻
