The location and the view are spectacular, the accommodation is confortable and the staff ia very friendly and proffesional. We were here with a 8 months old baby, and everyone did their best to offer us a greay holiday! Many thanks! 

Great stay!

Very nice place, quite, very clean and good breakfast. If you don't mind the 2 beautiful cats and the huge St Bernard wich are roaming around it's the perfect place for you! 
It takes 50 min to get from there to the Transalpina Ski Resort. 

Surprised

Ciobanelu (little shepherd) is located in the southern Carpathian mountains far from any city. However, it is easy to reach the guest house by car. We passed a nice weekend into the autumn hiking into the mountains. The guest house has about 10-12 rooms well equipped (the level is about 3*). the rooms are clean and quiet, there is a beautiful view of Latorita valley (local river). All the people are friendly, and if you like traditional dishes (too heavy according my taste, but very tasty) a weekend is perfect. There are trips that can be done by car around, up to 70km. Also hiking or cycling on the route or MTB. Be careful with chasing dogs.

Good place for an active holiday

The hotel is situated in a nice and quiet area, and have a great view in the back side, where you can see and hear a river and a wooded hill.  Many rooms have a balcony with the view on the river side. Rooms are quite big with spacious bathrooms. Still, in the rooms the beds are too small for two persons, just 1.40 m wide so your sleep will be not  comfortable.
Also the TV's in the rooms are very small, so is hard to see something if you are sitting in the bed. We were staying in room 17 where the shower tub was broken so after a shower the bathroom was looking like a small pool, When we informed Mrs.Ciobanu, the owner, she told us that she knows about this problem, but we have a mop and bucket in the room, so we can clean for our self. In 3 days, nobody came in the room, to check if something is needed or take the garbage. As night time was quite cold, the towels we used evening time, were still wet in the morning, as we had no any mean to dry them.
In the backyard you can find a barbeque where you can prepare your own dinner, and a nice pavilion,( which can accommodate abt. 50 persons) and where you can find two refrigerators for guests drinks or food.. Is nice to eat there having in front of you the river and the forest. Only that, very close to the pavilion, it is a place where owners are raising pigs, ducks, chickens and geese, and the smell coming from there is terrible sometimes.
Another problem there, is the small parking lot, If you are coming late, you have the chance to leave your car on the road, as the parking lot can accommodate only max 8 cars.
In conclusion, "La Ciobanelu" can be very easily a nice place to stay, with some modifications , and if Mrs. Ciobanu will try to be more friendly and helpful. She is lucky with the administrator, sorry I forget the name, who is really friendly and hard worker.
