Small bed with uncomfortable mattress, impossible to sleep.
If you are going to Sighisoara - just pay and get a place up in the citadel and be done with it (or only stay here one night and be prepared for discomfort).

avoid !!!

- The location is the best if you want to be close to the bus and train stations, as was my case.

- The staff is courteous and efficient. Special mention to a nice young lady who was at the reception all day on a Saturday.

- The entrance could be more attractive, but the rooms are good and comfortable.

Good location, good value

We enjoyed our stay at Pensiunea Chic! 
It was February and a little cold outside, but inside it was warm and cozy. The hot water was available all the time and the comfortable bed helped us sleep very well.
The location is very good, very close to the railway station.

it is indeed chic!

To get into this guesthouse you have to enter inside a bar, where the reception desk is located at the bottom! The girl who received us initially spoke English (quite well) and when she realized we were Italian she spoke to us in a perfect Italian! The room was very large and absolutely very clean! Even on the toilet there was the sanitation seal! As soon as we entered unfortunately the heating was off, so the room was a little cold, but during the night it warmed up as it should have been and it was fine!! It was the place that surprised me the most during our stay in Transylvania... despite the low prices (20€ for a double) the rooms are furnished and very clean, I can really clean!

Clean room and good coffee

This boarding house is much better than some of the 4 and 5 star hotels out there!!! It is located in a very quiet neighborhood of Sighisoara, about 10-15 minutes walking from the historic center. A few meters away is the train station, and there are bars, small shops, a taxi stop, etc... For me, the location is very convenient. Although there is no private parking, there will be no problem parking on the street because there are many free spaces. The general amenities were very good: it has a cozy hall and a lovely restaurant. The staff is exceptional: The girl who attended us when we arrived was a Spanish lady and also the reception lady with whom we checked out the next day was very convenient.

- noisy and annoying boiler during nighttime
- poor wifi signal strength
- issues with the POS payment 
- misleading information: at the booking moment the receptionist said payment through turist pass vouchers was allowed, at the payment moment the vouchers were refused even though the turist pass sticker is displayed at the front door and the pension is nominated by the vouchers' supplier website

Poor overall rating

Located right across the street from the train station. my girlfriend and I stayed in this boarding house one night, during the course of a trip around the country. from the beginning we expected to find a simple accommodation, according to the characteristics of the general media in which we had stayed in the country, but... what was our surprise? The entrance to the boarding house is like any other, but the room is like that of a hotel *** ****, such as. New, newly renovated and very spacious room. Large and super comfortable room. Large LCD TV. Large bathroom and cones. Everything super clean and impeccable. Wi-Fi works very well.

CALIDAD PRICE is 10 points.

We booked 4 nights here based on price (which was excellent for Sighisoara) and convenience to the train (the hotel is located across the street from the station) and location - only 15 min walk to the old town (albeit up a lot of stairs). Having said all that, 1 or at the most 2 nights would have been more than enough to see this small town.

The best way to review this hotel is to present the pros and cons.
Pros: 
         Staff were friendly providing good service

         Room was large, (once we were moved to room 6) clean, good heating and hot water, 

         Restaurant provided excellent breakfast and main meals at great value - for instance great burgers and chips for only 14 lei - and we haven't had a burger in about a year - so did that 4 days running.   

Cons: 
          We were originally given room three.  The room is quite small as it is under the eaves - so half of it is under the slope of the ceiling.  The TV unit and only shelf and wardrobe are in the 'danger zone' and we knocked our heads on the ceiling 4 times in half an hour - and we're not tall.  This was remedied by giving us a bigger room (Room 6). As we were staying for 4 nights not 1, we would have thought we would have been given the bigger room straight away - but it was booked through booking.com which seems to justify the smallest room possible in some innkeepers eyes. Just sayin' is all.

The bed was a very small double, (just 140cm wide). In their defence it was as advertised (we were given a range of 130-150 cm on booking.com). However, we didn't pay much attention to this on booking as most beds these days are at least queen sized - this is probably one of the reasons the room is so cheap.  We are not massive people - but still a double is very poky - before you consider staying here, go and measure 140 cm across your bed at home and then consider whether it's going to be enough room for 2 adults to sleep comfortably.

Given the smallness of the bed, we asked if they could spare an "extra bed" - they have fold in half beds there for extra guests and we saw at least 3 available in the store room. Don't know if it would have been comfortable (but it would have given one of us extra space to be uncomfortable in).  We were immediately told there would be an extra charge - we did say that we weren't trying to sneak an extra person in, it was just for a bit of extra space given the smallness of the double bed. Nope. Asked the boss. Nope - there would be a charge of 120 lei for the 4 nights.  It's not that they were booked, it's not that they were busy - they were just, no way, concerned with the comfort of their guests. Thus we got a taste of the infamous Romanian sternness by being told flat out NO! This lack of empathy or friendly attitude  was not a good start to our stay. 

As it turns out the teeny-tiny double bed was also rock hard. Nice linens for sure... but pointless if you lie there awake all night aching and are crippled the next day. We ended up piling our coats and down jackets onto the bed for extra cushioning. They also only provide 1 pillow each and 1 extra small cushion shaped thing. Not really another pillow. Didn't dare ask for another actual pillow each in case the calculator came out to figure the cost for the greedy westerners demanding extra things again.

In conclusion: A good stay at a establishment is basically whether you had a good nights sleep. We didn't - not once - so based on that alone we can only give an overall average (doesn't matter how friendly the staff are or how good the burgers are).  If you are going to Sighisoara - just pay the euro and get a place up in the citadel for one night and be done with it (or only stay here one night and be prepared for discomfort).

A stay of extremes

I wanted to stop by the train station because the next morning at 6 am there was a train, and I didn't regret it. The hotel was right across the street from the station, which made me happy. There was a very nice lady who woke up the next morning too early and made breakfast. And all with a sweet and friendly smile on her face. The room, although modest, was quite affordable at the price I paid. I walked to the historic center for 10 minutes and spent all my free time there. Sishogiara is a very beautiful city. And the hotel didn't disappoint.

Mini-hotel opposite the station

The guest house is located just in front of the Sighisoara train station and about 3 minutes from the centre by car. It is easily accessible and well signposted. In the guest house you can also eat or drink coffee/tea at more than reasonable prices.
