Looking for a place where to get together and celebrate in Romania our wedding anniversary, we came across Vila Castelul Maria. Since we were a large group, we lodged in Casa Maria, an inn with seven rooms and a lounge. Casa Maria is part of the property and it is located approximately 800m from the main house, Castelul Maria.

It was the perfect location! Cozy and homey with nicely decorated rooms, each one different. There is a lot of attention to the interior design.  Outside there is a beautiful garden with a hidden paths and romantic alcoves.
The hotel staff is very friendly, ready to help and to make your stay a memorable one.

The food is excellent, freshly prepared and using local produce.

Special thanks to Armella, who greeted us with a pleasant smile and soft manners; Also, thanks to Luminita, the manager, who went far and beyond to fulfill our expectations; Thanks to Tanti Camelia as well who prepared delicious meals for us and our guests and, last but not least, thanks to Carlo always attentive of our needs.

When returning to Romania, a stay in Castelul Maria will be on our list.

A GEM IN THE COUNTRYSIDE

I have travelled consistently over the years and saw some awesome places, tasted different food, met some interesting people also. But to find something so simple yet so elaborate is trully amazing. And I have found it home, in a Romania I didnt knew... the hosts are incredible, the location is quiet and well kept, and the food... wow! Its a perfect Italian&Romanian combination. M-am simtit excelent, de fiecare data. 

Amazing.

This is our second stay at this place. We took the tower room, a really special one with view on the garden and windows in 3 sides. The bed is big, the room also, the bath is more difficult for tall men but this can be accepted for the view. The whole place is very quaint and the rich and nicely maintained garden is really impressive. We enjoyed to walk and eat in the garden. There is a kids playground, but not extremely attractive somehow. Cats wandering around fit perfectly in the place, but if you are not a cat person, you need to tell them I guess. The Internet and WiFi signal are weak. The price of the room was ok for what we got. The dinner was a bit expensive for the dishes - chicken thighs with French fries at 31 ron, roasted goat kid meat with oven baked potatoes at 47 ron, plus a special brew of beer (their only one, premium one..) at 15 RON. The food was tasty, even the basic chicken and fries, while the goat kid with potatoes was really special. The portions are mid sized. The breakfast was delicious, special products you will not get everywhere (crepes with cheese, cheeses, traditional meat products, elderflower juice etc) and large quantities. 

The garden is the star

Great accomodation, very friendly staff and easy to get there ! 
Their yard is very cozy and you can enjoy nature in the backyard.  Also a lunch at the tables outside is brilliant.
If there's anything you would like to know or do, the staff will for sure help you out ! 


Excellent stay !

We spent 5 days here for New Years Eve and we loved it. We felt very welcome and they took really good care of us. The people are really nice and they do their best so you feel welcome and comfortable and have everything you need. We stayed at the villa, which is 800m away from Castelul Maria, but it was actually better this way. We appreciated our privacy in the villa, the rooms were pretty and we really enjoyed the 10 minutes walk to the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The food was incredibly delicious and much more than we expected. You can tell there is a lot of hard work behind every course. From flavors and combinations to plating - it’s more than the classic courses you get everywhere. 
We would love to come back in the summer. They have a beautiful garden in the back and I’m sure it’s gorgeous in the summer.
Totally recommend it.


Awesome service

We booked a night in this hotel, thinking it would be a nice place to stay, considering the pictures we saw online. It was actually one of our best hotel-experiences ever. The scenery was beautiful, the staff did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible and the hotel just breathes antique luxury. Would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely place

Good location and a nice retreat if you seek peace and quiet , helpfull and friendly staff . You can arrange for breakfast and dinner . The garden is great . 
There are things that can be improved but this is true for any place .
The area itself is nice and quiet with a few tourist destinations nearby .

The place is retreated and nice, as well as very home-y. There were some issues at the dinner we had, but I would like to thing the delay of 3+ hour on our dessert was a one time thing. We got it the next day for on the go 😊 
Other than that, room was nice and cats adorable! 
Probably not great place if you own a dog, but heaven for a cat person.

Nice place, heaven for cat persons

We spent the Christmas holidays at Castelul Maria in Bantpotoc and we couldn't have made a better choice. The hosts were waiting for us with traditional hot drinks, and the check in was quick. The Beige Apartment is spacious and spotless clean. We spent there 4 days and we felt we got spoilt; exquisite food, extremely polite and nice staff. They pay much attention to details and are really customer-oriented.
Nice,warm,cosy,friendly atmosphere. The big yard is a huge plus. We'll definitely come back!

Christmas at Castelul Maria

I've had lunch at this place several times and it has always been a pleasant experience. The garden of the villa is beautiful and the tables are all spread out through it, so you get to enjoy a bit of privacy while dining. The food is alright, however, my last experience there was quite a bit altered by the numerous cats surrounding us during lunch. My toddler did not enjoy having a bunch of cats try to steal her food so this made the whole experience stressful for all of us.
