I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel and it was a very good from every point( friendly staff, good food) and the waiter was very respectful with us. This hotel is placed in the center of the city and the view is amazing. They also make Danube Delta tours and it was one of the unique experience of my life. In 8-9 hours you cand see everythingThey also have comfortables and cozy rooms with many facilities. I will come here again  every time i get the chance for sure.

The best experience of my life and the best traditional fish food in region. I recomend it with the whole heart. When i arrived the manager told us about the Danube Delta trips and they also have a company for the trips with safe boats and nice places. They are the best !

The gist of the experience was the trips in the danube  with proffesional guys who speak english and describe everything

Basic hotel with clean and comfortable accommodations. We especially appreciated the friendly staff who went out of their way for us on several occasions to ensure we were happy. Their English ensured we had what we needed, they were quick to smile at our basic attempts at Romanian greetings, and they even prepared the traditional Romanian dish of stuffed cabbage leaves one night ahead of its normal season. We would happily return.

Basic, Clean, and Comfortable

Location is perfect, staff friendly, hotel clean, lift functional, ac perfect. As regards tea & coffee facilities I would supply tea, coffee (as well as milk please) for the whole duration and not for the first night. Otherwise ok.

Enjoyed it

The hotel offers exactly the services of the 3 stars it has, but it compensates through the very friendly staff and especially through the fishing restaurant that has exceptional food.I warmly recommend besides the sturgeon fish soup - "Storceg"  and house wine.

A nice hotel with a very friendly staff located in the city centre

The only restaurant in the city of Tulcea where you can serve fish dishes of the best quality, professional staff, warm atmosphere (family). Spacious, very clean rooms, free parking spaces.A really good place.

Superb

We stayed at this property as part of a group tour.
Excellent bed, hot water and room lighting.  A good breakfast and friendly staff.  However, our room only had one towel.  When we asked for a second towel, we were told we  will have it tomorrow!!!!
Very close to the Danube river and plenty of restaurant options nearby.

Good location

Comfortable  room  large and airy.  Good shutters and window that opens.  Air con as well.  Decent breakfast.  Room servicing could  have been better as only thing done was to empty bin.  We did not require new sheets for a two night stay but we would have liked another tea bag!

Central hotel easy walk to Danube

Clean,large rooms , free parking lot and a good restaurant serving international and local dishes.
Civic square 30m away and the danube cornuche wall 5 min walking. Staff is very friendly. 
Tours can be arranged from the hotel front desk or from the danube bank at similar prices

Good choice

Tulcea is a fairly small town that is the gateway to the Danube Delta. The Select Hotel does not seem to be the fanciest in town but it is of a reasonable standard - mostly. The hotel looks good from the outside and has a restaurant that can be reached from outside or internally. It has a small lift but there are a few extra stairs to get to the 1st floor after exiting the lift. My room was fairly standard. Not especially large but not too cramped either. It had twin beds, desk and chair, luggage stand, big closet and a couple of armchairs. There was a kettle but no safe. The beds had nice heavy cotton sheets and comfortable pillows but included some sort of plastic sheeting between the bottom sheet and the mattress that rustled each time I turned over. 

The bathroom was clean and in good repair with the shower over a corner tub and ample hot water. There was no shower curtain resulting in so much water outside the tub that I soaked all the towels mopping it up - and I was being careful!  

The wifi was terrible. Non-existent in the room at any time during my 2 night stay. The network showed up but always connected with "no internet connection". There was functional wifi in the lobby. I had dinner in the restaurant one night with reasonable menu choices and nicely presented food that was well-priced. Breakfast had the usual range of eggs, meat, cereal and fruit. Nothing special but adequate. 

Working late 1 night in the lobby on account of it having the only functional wifi I witnessed a shouting encounter between the receptionist and a man whom I first took to be a guest. Later someone pointed him out to me as the Owner or Manager of the hotel. The incident was a bit disconcerting especially as the lobby is an open room so they must have been aware that I was witnessing the altercation. 

That aside, the Select Hotel is perfectly adequate as a jumping off point for the delta if you don't need access to wifi in your room.
