Verry big rooms, the food was amazing we eat just fish but they have a lot of other choices. Nice people! Nice place! 
……………………………….Danube Delta trip was something else, se spend eight hours on water and we think it wasn t enough! I hope we will see you soon!

The trip was amazing,very nice people and the food was extraordinary . The room is very clean and the personal is so kind and friendly. If you will have the opportunity to visit the Danube Delta you will won t regret!

Friday, June 15th my friend and me arrived at this pension in Tulcea after a few weeks cycling trip. 
The friendly treatment, good food and availability at our times (not always regular) from the owners were a pleasant surprise.
Also, the owner spent most of our last morning  to solve our problems for the packing  and, even more difficult, the shipment of our biclycles  to the  Bucharest airport.

Great place, very friendly people. The excursions are very wel organised. Fair price. They offer the chance to discover delta and enjoy a fresh meal cooked in an authentic way by the lipovans.
If you are in Tulcea and look for a place to stay and for a trip in the Delta..Pensiunea Cristal is the place to be. Mihai, his lovely family and the team are absolutely fantastic people. And I recommand you to go for a trip with Dan..he is an amazing person, very friendly,excelent boat driver and guide.  

We did not stay at this B&B but reading the reviews many people commented on the good food so I called and asked if we could come for dinner. The best part of the meal was that it really was home made and authentic. Everything was delicious. We were even treated to some of the amazing (and strong) home made liquor after dinner. An evening we will remember with smiles.

One of my best meals of the trip

We booked almost a month in advance a boat ride with them from Tulcea harbor to Sulina harbor, having as main attraction point the area where Danube flows into the Black Sea. We were a group of 12- all family, including 2 children- hoping for an enjoyable day out. We spoke on the phone several times with Mr.Nane (who can be seen in one of the pictures here) agreeing on a price varying between 1500 to 2000 RON (450EUR) depending on the various places he will take us and of course the distance that will be sailed. On the agreed date we met him in the harbor, he seemed kind and helpful yet not very talkative. He start driving the boat towards Sulina with full speed ahead (which is actually a flat 2h boat drive in straight line) took us out on the Black Sea for about 15 minutes and then back to Sulina harbor. Upon being asked what else can we visit, where can we eat – although being Romanians we weren’t familiar with the area- we received equally flat answers that he’s “simply at our disposal, that he’s just a driver and we can do whatever we want for the next 3h”. No suggestions, no indications, no PROPOSALS for an alternate route perhaps to the Delta which was nearby that you would expect from someone who does that for a living. He simply docked in Sulina and preferred to wait for us for 3h while we wandered around in a small and almost deserted village, in open sun, phones in hand, trying to spot a place to eat/drink something. Upon returning on the boat we discovered 2 strangers who were already there with Mr.Nane, who were presented to us as “his friends” and who were supposed to return with us at Tulcea although the had no extra seats and he didn’t previously agreed with us in this regard knowing we are a family. When we refused to share the boat he simply ceased to communicate with us anymore revving the engines to the maximum and taking us with full speed ahead (for another flat 2h ride) back to Tulcea harbor. Not a single word for the entire 2h and besides that, upon observing that some of us who were exhausted (particularly the two children) were trying to catch some sleep, he pushed up the music almost to the maximum without asking us whether it’s OK or not, which combined with the engine noise made the experience even “more enjoyable” .Upon docking in Tulcea he pretended the full 2000 RON claiming “this is THE ONLY price we agreed upon” although he simply drove us back and forth for a 2h ride, didn’t took us anywhere special, refused to show us anything simply charging these 2000 RON (450E) for something that everyone else –and you can literary see adverts on all walls in Tulcea- would have charged a maximum of 1400RON (310E) reported to the exact same number of persons. Yet it’s not entirely about the money he ripped-us off just because we refused to take his “friends” with us but about stealing the beauty, the charm and the joy of a family day out. Upon asking for an invoice while we left we got another flat answer that “We’ll be in touch” since he couldn’t provide one right away. Just as a fact, last September a boat ride for 12 persons with 1 MEAL, coffee and drinks included in SARDEGNA/ ITALY cost us exactly 30E/person, a much, much different experience then the “boat ride” Mr.Nane provided us with leaving us with such a bitter taste….
