Three generations family, multi-nationality, we stayed in "Casa dintre Salcii" for 4 days. Family Stamate, the owners, and their personnel made everything possible to transform our visit to the Delta into an exceptional experience. We absolutely loved it: the trips in catamaran on the channels and lakes with the extremely  knowledgeable guide (house's owner) who introduced us to the mystery of this part of heaven, the friendly atmosphere of the house, its authenticity, the delicious local food, the hospitality.... It was an absolutely amazing and unforgettable experience. We would love to come back as soon as possible and highly recommend it.

The address to go in The Delta of Danube

We visited the Delta Danube last year but it's a place where we would like to return. A very peaceful location  with very nice owners. The food, based on the old way of cooking is amazing. You can enjoy a couple of private boat tours in the area and catch some fish right next to the house. Radu is very helpful and knowledgeable. If you plan to experience real wildlife nature this is the place to go.

Wonderful experience in a unique location!

We left the car at the shore, in an enclosed place, specified by the host, and we jumped in a nice catamaran, with our luggage.
We booked for two nights with breakfast and dinner in this traditional location. It was in the middle of the week so we were the only guests in this rather isolated place in wildness. The owner has decided to restore the reef roof on the main building, so were dirrected to a room in the corner of another guest house, near the back channel. It was OK, nobody disturbed us, except mosquitoes... very insistent mosquitoes... We had three kind of sprays and creams but didn't matter... they still reached us...
Food was great, fried Danube mackerel (scrumbie), fish soup (bors de peste) made from pike, catfish, and other fish species, carp brine (saramura de crap), all specific local dishes. And, of course, fish eggs (icre), fresh bread, veggies, cheese...
Next day we payed a two hour boat trip on the lakes and channels of delta. Only the two of us, guided by Mr. Radu, the owner, with his nice white catamaran. Unfortunately, we saw only a few birds (some isolated pelicans, swans and black cormorants), some little yellow and white waterlilies and... some fish nets...
In the evening and early in the morning I tried to catch some fish from the pier... got some little brims and one perch... no pike or carp... like three years ago some hundreds of meters upstream...
All in all it was a nice experience in a hospitable and quiet place.

Alone in the wilder Danube Delta

We parked our car in the hotel's fenced car park by a jetty at Murighiol and the pre-arranged water taxi was there waiting to ferry us. Our destination was Uzlina, a small village with no roads just water channels. Casa Dintre Salcii is on a little island, has a large garden with BBQ, a small pool and plenty of areas to chill out. Easy on the eye and a nice setting. We had four nights here primarily for ecotrips into the Danube Delta. Hostess Marcela also pre-booked a small boat with guide Ionut Calan for three day trips into the delta and he was really good. The upstairs ensuite room was ok and came with a landing overlooking the water. Unfortunately our visit coincided with a group of noisy Romanian fishermen who partied below until the early hours of the first night and they were also smokers (ubiquitous in Romania and we don't like cigarette smoke). Thanks to Marcela for moving us to a better room further away from them. Overall Marcela was really accommodating unlike her chain-smoking husband, Radu, who only acknowledged us at the very end. There aren't restaurants/shops nearby so we had breakfast and evening meals provided, and they were substantial. The first meals were good and full marks for providing vegetarian, but overall the standard was below par for Romania. For example, we went out on a trip very early one day and asked for a packed breakfast. It turned out to be one awful sandwich and a flask of coffee made the night before! Overall our stay was fine and, despite some negatives, I would recommend Casa Dintre Salcii as a good base to explore the delta.

Lovely location for boat trips into the Danube Delta

Everything is very expensive. Nothing for fun, except the boat trip (which is also very expensive). Check the prices before eating or drinking anything in this location. The owner - too "smart", even rude for his job (of serving his clients).

Not worth the money!

Unfortunately this is the worst guest I've ever been and this also ruined my trip to danube delta. The owner seems very disturbed by any kind of questions you put. The food menu is veeery poor and bad also. They don't have boats for you, the wi-fi isn't working, the drinks with alcohol are awful, the sheets in the badroom were dirty, was a lot of noise , you can here throw the walls what conversation has your neighbour. 
I don't recomand this to anyone!
