Located between the Transfargarasan and Transalpina Passes a must stop for weary riders. And if you’re the horse riding type rather than motorcycle there are stables and horse riding lessons available. It has a 15 metre pool and the whole place is set in lovely gardens.
Not expensive, very good value for money and the owner is dual Romanian/English so no communication issues.



Excellent 

The place is lovely and could be amazing but sadly is hilariously managed... 10 of us arrived hot and hungry to find that the staff there blamed the owner for not having told them of our booking.  We were first offered shared accommodation with strangers and when we declined this we did get the rooms we had originally booked (by staff turning out other customers... not sure what they thought about that!).  The food was OK but a lot of the menu was unavailable (the cook had been fired and a waitress was asked to cook we heard on the gossip-vine).  Our last night was a treat!  We sat around the pool and a disco began to be set up around us, then a girl arrived and changed into a see-through bodysuit G-string thing and angel wings for a photo session.  It was her 18 birthday party and this is normal so we were told.  The management had told us nothing about this party and one of the guests asked us to move from the pool area.  When we complained to the management the lady flew into a strange rage with the other guests and didn't bother to say anything to us.  Having stayed 3 nights you would have thought the lady in charge would have had time to find out about our booking from the owner (who had been around) but oh no..... we told the hard working bar staff we needed to leave (not early) and they said she was sleeping.  We gave her half an hour and she managed to raise herself but had no clue what deposit we had paid or how much we still had to pay.  This involved lots of calls to the owner and another half hour delay.  The lady described as 'the accountant' is  worse than Basil Fawlty.

So badly managed it was funny!

Turned up for a 3 night stay with 10 people which we had paid 50% in advance to secure a booking. Unfortunately the management had no record of our booking when we arrived and after an hour or so they had managed to ask some other folk to leave, cleaned some rooms and so we had a place to stay. Dinner on the first night was helped by a couple of complementary bottles of wine from the house so all fine so far. The food was OK but often what we asked for wasn't available and the facilities were a bit run down. Typical of our stay was this conversation...
"Can we play tennis", "Yes", 
"Do you have balls we can borrow", "Yes"
"Do you have rackets we can borrow/rent", "No"

OK so no tennis then - Table tennis was the reverse - Bats but no balls 

Saturday night we returned from a visit to Sibiu and sat at the pool for a beer to watch an 18th birthday party start to get set up - full sound system, dry ice machines, lights the works. We waited for anyone to say anything to us but the management left it to the sister of the party girl to ask us to move as they had exclusively hired the restaurant and pool area  for the evening....good job we didn't want to eat. The birthday girl's dad was super embarrassed when we (and the other guests) said we had no idea what they were talking about & he got us a couple of drinks to apologise and we all had to leave. All this time the management team were AWOL and the poor waiting staff were left to run the place as best they could.
The next day we tried to leave at 8am but the management were ASLEEP and didn't want to be woken so we had to hang around until 9.30 to tell them what we owed, fill in all the forms we should have been asked to do at the start and then leave.

The waiting staff were fantastic and tried to hold the whole place together. The guy running the horses was also very good and was tearing his hair out too, the management team was truly appalling and for this reason I cant recommend staying here. I wouldn't say this is the most disorganized management team I have ever seen but its in the top 1.

Extremely disorganised place to stay

This place could be so so so much better with just a little effort. Replacing the shower heads and better cleaning the bathrooms + better training your staff does not require huge amounts of money and anyone good willing should be able to do it.

The Good: 
- A lot of space
- Good for families with children 
- Awesome if you like horses
- Good for larger groups that want to stay in one place

The Bad: 
- unprepared staff and huge miscommunication between management and staff
- WiFi only working in the restaurant
- breakfast options are terrible (just eggs and coffee)
- could have been cleaner... The place smelled like bad toilet cleaning perfume for the first two day - pretty clear they were trying to cover something up. 
- old and rather dirty shower heads and toilet seats
- we were not told the gate closes at 00:00 at night so we had to climb the fence... not good
- old looking communist buildings in site
- they take care of some dogs locked away in the back somewhere but they are all in terrible terrible shape. A vet should see them soon.

A dissapointment

Best transylvanian place. The Staff is super friendly, warm and helpful. The garden is an idyllic paradise,  you can chill in the hammocks or socialise depending on the mood you're in. Small things make the club great, the herb garden is enjoyable and invite you to start gardening yourself. Great to meet people from the next village and participate in some local workshops.
