Orlinoe gnezdo (Altaj)

We travel a lot (all 7 continents so far), in various hotel categories. We spent 2 nights at Orlinoe Gnezdo after our Altai tour and we loved it! The territory is clean and well kept, the houses are very quaint, and in each there are just a few rooms so its private enough to feel like in a small scale bed and breakfast. 1) The grounds: Wonderful forresty area, right at the Katun river, with many places to sit and enjoy a wonderful view of the Katun river. Picknick areas, swings. Very children friendly, playground, pool (in summer), various accommodation options from little houses, to apartments to normal rooms. There is also a restaurant, banya and a spa on the grounds. 2) Rooms: We had the standard rooms in the Russian building and it was very nice. The standard room is not very large, but cosy, has a balcony, a small table and 2 chairs, a pitcher and glasses, cups. Bathroom is modern and unlimited hot water (in the Altai area and Russia in general that can be an issue often!). Shampoo and soap provided, hair dryer also in the room. Thick and quality comforter blanket, clean sheets, overall very clean interior (you leave your shoes in a cupboard at the entrance of each house to keep the interior clean). TV, free wifi. 3) Restaurant: Very nice restaurant with panoramic windows, not facing the river but the nature around. The food was surprisingly amazing, something I would compare with world fine cuisine, which was very unexpected but very welcome to us! The vegetarian dishes are a must try, this is probably the best vegetarian/vegan things I ever tried (cawliflower pure, pumpkin pure and cabbage steak! (Yes that is good). They also have a wide range of meat dishes, venison, pasta, Russian dishes - we ate there 2 dinners and 1 lunch, tried several dishes and they all were amazing and wonderfully prepared and flavorful! Breakfast is buffet style, changes a bit every day, warm dishes as well. Restaurant staff is very professional and friendly! Prices are very reasonable as well. 4) Spa: We treated ourselves to spa treatments, neck massage, thai foot massage and the fitobocka (herbal barrel) with salt scrub afterwards. Very nice spa center, very friendly and professional staff also at the spa and the prices are very reasonable (especially comparing to Moscow prices). We plan to return and value the amazing service of really all of your employees that we encountered (from the cleaning lady, to receptionist to spa staff to restaurant staff...), the professional attitude, the lovely hotel complex and the wonderful surroundings!
