Hotel Jet

First things first. This is not a hotel in the traditional sense of the word. It’s more like a mix between a hostal and an apartment suite. The place is located close to the Domedovo Airport and, therefore, it’s a good option for a layover stay. It is a big house located in a residential neighborhood, with nothing around it. That makes it for both a quiet place but also hard to get in or out from, except to/from the airport. More to that in a moment. It is definitively not a good choice for a proper Moscow stay (vacation type). With this introduction you may be wondering why the high rate. Because it delivers what it promises. It is, in general, a no-frills inexpensive option. In our case, we used the hotel for a week as the operations centre for a trip to the soccer world cup. Because it is so close to the Domedovo airport, it is very convenient for not having to deal with the Moscow traffic. 10 min and you are in the terminal. They provide free shuttle (more like hired cabs) to from the airport on demand. It is free if they are expecting someone but they charge you a reasonable fee if they don’t. However, be aware of delays. Their 10 minutes are not regular minutes. Plan accordingly. The rooms are big and have the basic. There is a small restaurant and you can get a decent meal for a good price. The only minus is that none of the staff speaks a word of any other language other than Russian. My guess is that its target audience are mainly Russian travelers and they don’t feel the need to speak any other languages. If you are a master on Google Translate, it will be fine. If not, you are in for a rough ride. Overall, in similar circumstances I would stay there again.
