Herewith I would like to commend genuine friendly attitude of the staff and fairly good quality of the facility, which I experienced twice for the last two years with obvious signs of further improvements - the a-little-bit-stunning-staircase-work-in-progress, noted in some reviews, has been very well completed. Great people, excellent location and most reasonable price

Hostel Dostoevsky is one of the very first hostel in Novosibirsk. In 3 years it moved 3 times, first on Inskaya street, then on Schetinkina street, now on Maxima Gorkogo street - I have witnessed how it has changed and grew. For me it will forever be a special place.

The atmosphere is quite friendly. The hostel is well-maintained. Rooms are as small as any other hostels, but cozy enough. Price is very reasonable for a hostel conveniently located at the city center.

Great hostel

The Hostel is on the third floor of a building where all the other floors are ruined, which creates a pretty cool and urban atmosphere. The staff are friendly young people, with lot of tattoos and heart :) they speak english, so no problem for no-rusian-speaking tourists and are very helpfull in every way. The Hostel is also familiy friendly, on our third night there were a lot of kids, which was very funny. you have the option to use the kitchen, wash, watch tv or play xbox. Also two sweet kitten are living there.

Cool Hostel

i must admit that my first impression of this hostel was very bad. they recently moved to a nearby building, and the address currently on here and many places online is actually wrong (they're now at Maxima Gorkogo, 85). so imagine my surprise when i got to shchetkina st and couldn't find the place at all! to be fair, they had emailed me the correct address (i just didn't pay attention) and are in the process of changing the addresses online, but it made for a frustrating morning.  it's a bit hard to find the place even with the correct address, but that's true of all russian hostels it seems - you'll know you found it by the huge picture of dostoevsky on the door. don't be alarmed by the fact that the rest of the building is empty.

i found it eventually, and after that everything got better. i was trying to get down to the altai mountains, and not only did a bunch of the staff reach out to their social networks to help me find someone to help me get down there, but one of the staff actually went with me (thanks surge)! 

the desk is manned 24/7. all of the staff speak enough english to check you in, and a couple of people speak english quite well. the hostel always seemed busy. bathrooms are big and split by gender, with plenty of hot water. great kitchen facilities, comfy couches, plenty of beds and lockers. their wifi is awful, but i hope that's because they just moved and they're working to fix that.

all in all, the people working here are great and helpful, and the facilities are great. enjoy your stay!
