SuperHostel Na 1-J Sovetskoj 12 Mini-Hotel

What was good

The location of this hotel is everything! It's in the very center of the city, yet it's shielded by a line of buildings from the closest busy avenue, the Nevsky Prospect, and, in such a way, it's very calm and quiet there. The room was large enough, i.e. 16m2, exactly like featured in the hotel descriprion. It had good enough natural lighting due to large windows (that were sealed for winter time), and nice lamp shades suspended from the ceiling. The lightig in the bathroom was very good as well. Additionally, an electrical heater was provided, since the outside temperature was -21 to -23 C at the time of our visit to St. Petersburg for the Christmas & New Year holidays. The bed sheets were crispy clean))) A wall TV set, microwave, electrical tea pot, small fridge, everything was provided, exactly as featured in the descriprion. The hotel was perfectly clean! We were made to slip on plastic pads on top of our winter boots not to drag in some dirt from the outside, and we perfectly complied with it.

What was bad

The quality of the mattresses leaves much more to be desired. I could feel the springs inside my mattress push against my back. Also, just like the hotel honestly warns you in the description, there are no full double beds provided at all, nor queen-size bed, nor king-size beds. There are indeed two twin-size beds per "Comfort Double Room" put together, right next to each other, with two separate mattresses on them. There was no such a thing as one large mattress put on top of two twin-size beds, as was mentioned in the description of my "Comfort Double Room w/One Double Bed".
