We stayed in a nearby Airbnb but went here for every meal. Delicious food, top notch service, especially William, who arranged the boat to the mainland among other things. Very helpful chap! Good drinks & coffee. Very grateful, considering it might be the only restaurant on the peninsula (we didn't encounter another).

Had a great two-night stay at Ruhondo Beach Resort. 

Pros: 
- The location is excellent (right on Ruhondo Lake, with a beaut view of the volcanoes--Gahinga, Muhabura, Sabyinyo, and Bisoke on a clear day).
- The staff are friendly and helpful, and the service is good.
- The rooms are clean.
- The vlaue is great (especially right now, with lower prices due to the pandemic).
- The complimentary breakfast is good, with omelletes, fruit, sambusas, coffee, tea, etc. 
- There are plenty of outdoor seating options, in hammocks, loungers down by the lake, etc. 

Cons: 
- I'm not sure if they have any kind of quiet hours (i.e., we heard a group partying until the early hours one of the nights we were there). 
- The pillows are more akin to rocks than anything fluffy, so if you live in Rwanda, you might want to bring your own. 

Extras: 
- Definitely park by the power plant and opt for the boat ride over; the road to drive there is long and rough. 
- The birding around the property is lovely, so be sure to take a camera and pair of binoculars if that's your thing. 

Would highly recommend for a nice getaway from Kigali and would go back for sure.

Relaxing Lakeside Spot

Very serene, chill and breath taking views and landscape. The stuff is nice and welcoming, great for relaxing as well outdoor activities; mountain biking, hiking, canoeing....for active sporty guests.

Amazing place for holiday

my recent stay at ruhondo beach resort was fantastic the staffs are amazing rooms have been comfortable as well as their restaurant mainly fresh fish let me say about how greenly the island is and the boat tour it was superb.i can't wait to camp for my next trip. thanks to all!

A perfect stay

We arived straight from Kigali by 4x4 car, the roads were ok to drive. Driving here is longer than their recommended way of arriving (boat) but it was a very beautiful roadtrip. Food was great and the staff lovely.
We slept in a room but there are tents and campsites available. They were responsive by email and whatsapp so we could ask for corrections on the road.

Very hospitable and relaxing place

Excellent place to disconnect and enjoy life in a very beautiful environment. The staff are super friendly and the food is great.. they set the bun fire every night where you can gather around and have a great evening. The boat trip they offer is also amazing. I highly recommend this place, had one of the best times ever.

Excellent place to have a peaceful weekend!

Adventurously, I have never been enjoyed a place like I did at Ruhondo Beach Resort!Quite calm and enthusiastic place to relax! A bunch of professional workers that are doing everything possible to be served excellently! well cooked meal, availability of variety of drinks, rooms well equipped at maximum level.... A trip boat in Ruhondo lakes full of stories of diversity of people..... I swear, If I have to choose where to go for my next trip, I would never hesitate to go at Ruhondo Beach Ressort! Big up to Nepo and Kiza for the good job you are doing! deliver my excellence notes of thankful to all workers around there! Keep following the excellence, success will chase you soon!

SPLENDID Place to Relax

Spectacular view of the lakes and the volcanoes, very good service and nice staff, good food, lots of space for kids,  well located for a village walk and a boat trip, rooms are just basic and would benefit from maintenance or renewal but rather clean.

Their are so spacious with Rwandan interior design.
Free Wi-Fi and very fast .
Tour boat when it was our relaxing time ,was very remarkable  and memorable to us.
The employees are always interested and smiling to us.

Ruhondo beach resort has a very Paradise place for comfort, good view of waters and the big chain of volcanoes.

The setting is stunning. The room is basic but sufficient. The drain in the shower was blocked, but there was hot water. The staff were helpful. But they have no kettle and I like to drink hot water. So they made my hot water in a pot - which was resourceful but undrinkable. The POS device was not working. Luckily someone in our group had a momo account and could pay them.
