It was very dirty. My sheets and pillow are dirty. Bathroom was not clean. Staff is not friendly and helpful. If you have reservations, you must cancel this.  you can stay in a much better hostel for this money.  I had a 3-day reservation, I had to cancel.

Reserved this because it looked cool and it seemed like it could be a better experience than airbnb alone. From the pics you would assume that you have enough privacy but in fact this is only one big room without any door. Anyone from the street can basically come in at any moment and watch you in your sleep if they want since there isn't any key provided and anyone can just open the main door.
When I left in the morning (around 6) both of the receptionist were sleeping on the couch and didn't even noticed when I opened the door and left.
The door is not even noisy and neither has an alarm or any kind of device that plays a sound when you open (take notes, hostel)
To be honest, this place is not safe at all and wouldn't recommend to anybody.
It has lockers though, and they give you a key for that.
Other than that, avoid, there are other options for the same price and better security.

I made a reservation a couple days prior, but when I arrived, I was denied check-in on account of my US passport. The front desk manager, probably drunk, wouldn’t stop berating me about imperialism, bad history with Serbia, etc. I had to leave as she was screaming and cursing me out. No provocation except that I showed that passport (per standard check-in procedures). Woefully unprofessional.

They advertise on TripAdvisor “a place serene enough for south travelers of all kinds.” The irony.

In addition, my impression from the lobby alone was that the property is much shabbier than its photos online.

Avoid this place like the plague.

Discriminatory practices

When I saw this hostel on booking I thought this was gonna be the best place to stay at whilst being in Belgrade. Well, no. When we arrived there it was quite busy, but that is normal for hostels. There was a guy who welcomed us because the owner was busy with two other guests. He offered us a drink, which was nice. But after a while the drinks got more and my boyfriend and I noticed they were starting to get drunk. Being drunk is ok, but not when you are working at a reception from a hostel whilst making a payment with a guest. Luckily that went well...

The beds were nice, I really liked the concept of it. But the toilet ( yes there was only one for all the guests ) and showers weren't really clean.

After we got our bed we went to the city that eat and the friend of the owner made comments about my appearance which was not acceptable. 

Never again

We originally planned to stay here three nights but we cancelled after one night.

When we arrived at 9pm, the owner and his friend were tipsy, but within 10 minutes they were drunk and had trouble setting up our bill. At that moment, there were two girls leaving because they did not like the use of alcohol (which he told us later with a big smile). When we left to get some food the friend of the owner made a crude remark to my girlfriend which was DEFINITELY off limits. 

And then the bald old guy who started to drunk-talk to us and started screaming YEAH AMSTERDAM WEED WHORES at the top off his lungs.

Sleeping cabins where okay, although a bit small for 2 persons. Quite noisy during the night. Only one toilet (the other was used as a storage room) for about 20 persons.

My girlfriend felt uncomfortable after rude remarks

Super friendly staff but “capsules” are in a windowless, airless basement which is also the basement of the next door nightclub. The music vibrates through the walls and floors till 4am. Ear plugs do not work.

We arived from Skopje early in the morning and didn't had any problem finding the hostel or booking it. Staff was really nice and friendly, quickly gave us all info we need and recomended us good places to eat and visit. The best thing was when we walked down in the cellar. Capsules were amazing, as an final-year students of architecture, we were stunned by the beauty of this place. It is really a zen-hostel where you can rest. Don't forget to set your alarm clock because you'll be sleeping forever there :D

Amazing experience of capsules and their stunning architecture

I usually avoid hostel dorms but this capsule hostel was a perfect alternative to a private room. Clean, private and the staff was extremely nice and helpful! They answered all of our tricky questions and even arranged us a shared shuttle bus to drive us to our next destination in the Balkans. The little bar and terrace were perfect for relaxing after a long day in the city. The only downside we experienced was the noise/music coming from a nearby club on Saturday/Sunday night. Even earplugs didn't help with that.

Clean and comfortable hostel, but a little bit noisy during weekends

The staff was kind and generally the place is clean, but the prices are a bit steep for capsules. Our main problem was with the noise though: the capsules are in a cellar of a bar/nightclub. When we complained we were told that it is not their nightclub and that at weekends it's normal in Belgrade. (We have stayed in many different places in Belgrade and have never had this problem.) The owner would not talk to us personally but only told the receptionist to refuse refund through phone. Cannot recommend.

If you don't need sleep

We arrived from Budapest on the 1st of july, and at first we had booked another hostel which I’d booked to the 30th, so it was fairly canceled. When we arrived to the hostel it was totally full, but we were recomeded to go to the City Zen hostel, for good reason.

The City Zen Hostel is a nice, cozy hostel which is placed near the city-center. The hostel in itself has good facilities, good bunk-beds for an affordable price and a kind staff. The only thing we missed was the “hostel atmosphere”, but it do also depend on the guests, and most of the time all of us went out in the city, so it was a bit difficult to talk with that many different guests.

Will defenetly recomend this place if your’re going to visit Belgrade.
