La Digue

La Digue is a stunning destination, so I spent most of the time cycling, hiking, swimming and diving and was looking for a clean and quiet place where to sleep, not expecting too much luxury. I found that at Etolie Labrine and Apurver was an excellent host. The provided bycicle was great to move around the island - I stayed there for 8 nights and was able to really enjoy all of the island.

This is by far one of the best places we have ever stayed. 

Service 10/10
Were picked up from the Ferry and transfered to the accomadation by the owner's son who was just a gentleman. 
Welcome drinks were ready on arrival and they arranged bikes for us for the duration of our stay. The staff were very helpful and they were willing to go above and beyond to meet our needs.  

Accomodation 9/10
The accomodation we stayed in was more than suitable.  The beds were huge with plenty of room for me to twist and turn without annoying my wife 😅. The room was clean and always kept that way. 

Food 10/10
Breakfast - was made with love and always left you satisfied and salivating for the next morning. Variety of choice with an amazing selection of fruits. Imnnot a drinker but there was always wine for those that needed. 

Dinner - the best fish I have ever tasted. We were the only ones  who had ordered dinner that night and they went out of their way to make a candle lit dinner just outside our accomdation. Little did they know that it was actually our 5 year anniversary.  It was thoughtful of them. Made for a perfect night. 


The best Accomodation in La Digue

Family guest house, in a very relaxing place, near Anse Source d'Argent. I spent about 2 weeks this August with my wife and daughter. We have been here some years ago and the family welcoming is still fantastic, they makes you feel like home. Apever, his mother and all the staff are very kind, assisting you on everthing you might need. At their restaurant you are like home, with fresh fruits and vegetables coming directly from their beautiful garden. Very good food, excelently cooked by the  Apever's mother. A very pleasant stay, living La Digue in its  authentic beauty.

Wonderful stay and family feeling

This is a magical place. 
The lovely owner Johanne and the staff was really helpful and very friendly.
We‘ve been served fresh juices, fresh fruits and a good breakfast. All of the fruits and veggies are all organic from the own garden. The garden is really lovely. 
We wanted to experience the island with bicycles. Already at the pick up the driver organized 2 bikes for us. By the time we done our check in the bikes where ready. 
The place is super clean and tidy. Outstanding! 
For us this was one of the nicest accommodations on our trip through the Seychelles. 
I strongly recommend this place.

Perfect Accommodation

Very attentive and helpful lady, and son, owner. Great meals prepared at request, slightly pricey-but high quality and better than most restaurants. Clean and well kept cottages, great in the afternoon, hot in the morning (or vice verca if your south)

After much research, we chose this hotel for my family of four. There are some positives and negatives. This hotel is well located in the middle of the island, and there are no cars. So we were picked up at the jetty. It took a while to find our transport, a golf trolley, as they were not at the dock with a sign like everyone else. We were shown our rooms fairly quickly, which was good but it was around four o'clock and we were eager to get on with touring and seeing the island. When I asked for a map of the island, I was told that I could take a picture. Really, no paper maps? Ok. We had a cabin with two separate rooms. They weren't the most modern and there were a lot of ants. One shower really didn't work, so our kids used the one in our room. But the room was clean. We were asked if we wanted to rent bikes, and we agreed. Well, after riding to Grand Anse up and down the hills and thinking that I was out of shape, I realized that it was that I had a flat tire. And another of the bikes had a seat that swiveled and one had brake issues. Don't rent from who they recommend.  Also, it is not a given that there is going to be dinner served. The first night there wasn't any because enough people didn't request it. So we had to bike on dark and eerie roads at night looking for food. Again, no map. On a positive note, the woman owner is so nice and accommodating and helpful. The breakfast is very good and the grounds themself are quite lovely. The dinner we had the second night was fabulous. But here is my real gripe.. Our final morning, we went down to the beautiful beach for one last swim in paradise. When we got back, we were locked out of one of the rooms and all of our belongings were moved into the other room. What? It was shocking. The son said that because it was an hour past check out (10am) they weren't sure if we were returning and moved our things and this was standard policy. Never in all of our travels has this happened. And he charged us a late check out fee for this too! When we mentioned the erratic wifi and the ants, he told us, "Well this is a tropical island, what do you expect?" We arrived to this island with huge smiles, and unfortunately left with frowns.

Bright Star With Room for Improvement

A perfect Guesthouse on La Dique, quiet and very clean with a beautiful garden, very nice breakfast and excellent diner - we enjoyed it two times, compliments to the cook, and the service was just great - no need to go to a restaurant, might be difficult to get such tasteful food for that value. We would like to thank Jamal, always being available to support and his restaurant service, for his kindness and always good mood which made the stay a remarkable one. The right place to be for a stay on this island.

just wonderful and relaxing

Clean, comfortable rooms.  Reasonable restaurant.   Excellent service.     Quiet location.

Rental bikes aren't well maintained so, if hiring, do it yourself at one of the several depots around the jetty.    Not only is that cheaper but you can check the brakes and gears and make sure the bike's right for you.

Anse Source d'Argent is easily accessible but very busy.    Grand Anse, also nearby, is much quieter but lacks shade.     15 minute walk north of grand anse, Petite Anse is quiet and picture perfect with some shade among the rocks at north end.     15 minute further by foot Anse Cocos has plenty of shade.

Well located

we stayed in etoile for 2 nights, on the day of our check out we had our early morning jetty so the staff made sure we aren't travelling empty stomach and provided us the breakfast early which won our hearts. Rooms were neat & clean.

The room was comfortable and surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden. To reach the center of the island you need to bike 10 minutes, but this gives the location extra quietness and charme.
The restaurant, where they serve dinner on request, was delicious.
Breakfast is good and abundant, could be more varied though.
Everyone 's very kind and helpful.
I suggest a stay!

We stayed here in July 2016. And it’s become our benchmark ever since, when staying is similar places (family I owned small hotels). Staying at Etoile Labrine felt like being part of the family. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. And amazing cooks on top of that! If you  consider having dinner outside the hotel, forget it. We tried that option too; but nothing compares to the meals you get there. And they have special themes some nights. We were lucky to be there for a fresh seafood (catch of the day) barbecue night; and we are still talking about it. 
Even though it’s not on the beach, the place is like a little Eden garden in the middle of the island. And a 5 minutes bike trip away from Anse Source d’Argent beach.
We actually reduced our stay on Praslin island only to spend the last two nights back at Etoile Labrine. 
Seychelles is not a cheap holiday but destination; and with that in mind at Etoile Labrine you will get value for money. 

Little Eden garden in the middle of the island

We stayed here on our honeymoon and was delighted with the location, the hospitality and the food.  The accommodation was a little tired the towels were old but clean but that's not everything.  The garden aspect was delightful and the property was situated out of the main town meaning it was very peaceful.  The owner and his Mom were very friendly and would always help in anyway, nothing was too much trouble.  We ate there most evenings as we could choose what we wanted and it would be freshly cooked for us.  We could not hire bikes as I'd fractured my arm two weeks before so we had to walk everywhere but this was not problem either as every beach was within walking distance.  This island is very rustic, it is lush with trees and plant life.  There are various birds to spot and we managed to see a male and female flycatcher (verve).  The beeches however are amazing, powder sand and blue azure sea although not many of them we were able to swim in but that was not an issue for us.  The locals were all friendly saying hello and asking how we were although we had never met before.  I would definitely recommend our stay here in La Digue.
