Bydleli jsme v útulném pokoji s manželskou postelí. Na pokoji byla koupelna se sprchovým koutem i vanou. Pokoj měl funkční klimatizaci a minibar. Každý den probíhal úklid. Celá vila je umístěna na klidném a tichém místě. Má domácí a přátelskou atmosféru, která zapadne do krásného ostrava La Digue. Ubytování poskytuje skvělé snídaně a pronájem kol. Paní majitelka je velmi příjemná a přátelská osoba. Velmi ji záleží na vašem pohodlí a spokojenosti. Pobyt jsme si užili a doporučili bychom ho každému.

We stayed in a cozy room with a double bed. The room had a bathroom with a shower and a bathtub. The room had working air conditioning and a minibar. Cleaning was done every day. The whole villa is located in a quiet and peaceful place. It has a homely and friendly atmosphere that blends in with the beautiful setting of La Digue. The accommodation provides a great breakfast and bike hire. The lady owner is a very nice and friendly person. She cares very much about your comfort and satisfaction. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

Útulný pokoj s domácí atmosférou a skvělou snídaní - Cosy room with a homely atmosphere and great...

The guesthouse is located very central, close to everything, and easily accessible by bike. The house is literally build upon the typical granite rocks you see everywhere in the Seychelles. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. The lady of the house makes you feel welcome immediately, is very nice to chat with and prepares a lovely breakfast for you in the morning. She even arranged two fresh coconuts for us because it was our last day. Good value for money. I would recommend this to others! Thanks for everything!!!

great place & lovely lady of the house

We spent a week at Liane de Mai and were very happy that we did. The house and rooms were immaculate and the breakfasts amazing, keeping us going almost to dinner! There are two main reasons that I would recomend this as a place to stay, firstly, Lauria who was born and has spent her life on the island and worked as headmistress in the local school and so is known and respected by seemingly everyone on the island. Secondly the house is located halfway up the main peak of the island which means that it is relatively cool at night and very quiet. Lauria also has a beautiful garden. The house is a 15 minute walk from the harbour and about 25 minutes from the nearest beach.

Lauria the owner is such a wonderful person, and very caring! i stayed in Liane de mai for 4 days and it was the best b&b i stayed in throughout seychelles . she wants to make sure you are having a nice stay, and is not intrusive at all. She's genuinely a nice person and her home is always spotless clean. Her breakfast is also to die for ! she makes you feel very welcome, and her house is located is a nice and quiet area far from the noise of the city center. she can recommend you a very nice hiking guide (Robert) and places to go : all her contacts are as nice as her. Lauria is such a gem !!!!!!

Laurie was a fantastic hostess, all needs met, very helpful & friendly at all times. Breakfast was delicious every morning and the homemade fruit juice was amazing :-) Lovely house, very clean & tidy. And Laurie left us with a great xmas present. Definitely recommend staying here :-)

Fantastic hostess & great place to stay!!

A comfortable local home – also the most expensive place we stayed in the Seychelles.  You will discover that on La Digue everything costs more than Praslin or Mahe.

We stayed here for a week, booking via agoda.  This is intended to be a fair, impartial review of our stay.

First you need to know that this isn’t a hotel or self catering apartment, it is a room in a Seychellois house - a pleasant, comfortable room, with en-suite bathroom, fridge, a/c and fan.  Our bathroom shower was hot, the basin, bidet and bath only have cold water.

On the plus side, the retired teacher owner is keen that guests enjoy their stay and sets them up with a good breakfast of seasonal fruit, bread and eggs.  At the front door, there is a breezy shared verandah with two comfortable seats, to enjoy the lovely garden, filled with tropical plants and flowers.  Please note that contrary to the Seychelles Tourism guide, there is no TV or personal safe in the room.  We only discovered there was (paid) internet here on our last day, as the wifi didn’t reach our room.

We walked from the jetty with two wheeled bags, but in the heat of the day would recommend taking a taxi unless you are exceptionally fit, more acclimatised or travel extremely light.  Over 10 Euros for a five minute drive is extortionate, but as I said, on La Digue everything costs more.  The walk started easy enough, but the final stretch to the Guest House is a bit steep.  When the road in front rises alarmingly and you think ‘I can’t possibly drag my bag up here,’ look to the right.  The house sign is above the door, but is only visible from above, when you have walked past.  I did suggest they could have a sign put up at the junction and another at the house gate.

The location is lovely if you want peace and quiet, but is at least a 20 minute walk from the main village amenities, so you need to walk or ride for meals, although there is a well-stocked mini-market a five minute walk from the junction.  Other reviewers have said that the owner cooked meals for them, but this was not offered.  On some listings the kitchen is listed as communal, but if this is the case it was not made clear to us.  We made up lunches in our bathroom, buying a knife and other cutlery in the local hardware shop.

The Zerof Café is just beyond the shop, but be aware there is a take-away and sit-in section.  Prices in the latter are twice as expensive and service is poor.  With two staff (watching television) and only two customers (us), they still managed to get my wife’s order wrong.  We paid 10 euro for a cheese and ham sandwich!  The Gala take-away 300 metres past the Veuve Reserve has far better choice.

Carry on up the road from Liane de Mai to find the Belle Vue viewpoint café.  It is a mind-bogglingly steep walk however, we only managed a few hundred yards beyond Liane de Mai before becoming soaked with sweat and exhausted.  Apparently if you book a meal, they will drive you up.  We also discovered on our last morning that the trucks with seats at the back, which hurtle around the lanes act as local buses.  It would be worth waiting until one comes along, flag it down and pay your Rs7 to get a lift to the top.

I would recommend asking about internet, the kitchen, transport and anything else when you arrive, we didn’t, so missed out on a few things - which is our own fault.

If you are looking for a resort, close to amenities, this is the wrong place.  If you want somewhere homely to experience a bit of Sesel life, this is a good choice, which whilst not exactly cheap, isn’t crazily expensive. Just don’t drag your bags all the way from the jetty!
