perfect place if you are solo travelling or travelling with friends ,me and my friends stayed in a room of 4 which was kept clean and tidy and spacious ,it comes with a place to keep all your belongings,there is shared toilets and showered showers which are kept clean ,we met loads of lovely people and the man who owns the place recommend us the best view points and hikes to do on our stay,there is a market across the road which also does cheap wine and lovely selection of fruits ,thank you ⭐️

Trip with friends and further friends ⭐️

Bed bugs  found in every single bed in our 6 person room. Staff not helpful and owner was arrogant acting like it was the fault of the travelers and not their issue. Do not stay here! They do not follow the proper procedures and all housekeeping staff are untrained young people on work exchanges.

Beg bugs

The worst case of bed bugs I've ever had, closer to 100 bites everywhere on my body. I guess I didn't look closely at the sheets, they seemed clean enough but my friend got bites from their too. The picture is just a sample of what the whole back of my body looks like.

Otherwise the hostel is fine, great location, bring your own lock, the common spaces seemed clean. Parking is offsite. I should've used a sleep sack, or brought my own sheets.

Bed bugs!!! Watch out!!

Super modern vibes, and love the styling. Really friendly staff, fantastic location right by the lake. one of the best hostel showers I have ever tried, big bright rooms with one way mirrored windows and blinds which is a really nice touch. also has a lawn to chill outside and a large, modern well appointed kitchen. what's not to like

Clean, modern and great location

€100 a night for a bunkbed with a door. No air conditioning, no space, no blind or curtains and dirty sheets.

The communal areas such as the toilets and the showers are also dirty.

Absolutely no hospitality from the staff whatsoever, no towels are provided and you must pay for your stay in cash. 

Avoid at all costs for a couples trip, possibly better if you are in the dorms or a single traveller.

Overpriced awful couples stay in private twin room

We booked a private double room. When we arrived they gave us a 4 bed dorm. Which was block booked only for us. However we expected a private room with a double bed. There was NO aircon in the room apart from a crap plug in nosiy fan. Not acceptable in sweltering summer heat. They only take cash even though they advertise taking cards. The staff we encountered were friendly. Good location. 

No aircon. Cash only. No private double. 

Unfortunately we encountered bed bugs during our stay at this hostel.  The morning after we brought the issue to staff’s attention (Patrick and Zala) were friendly in trying to help us purge our belongings.  They offered us 10€ to run two loads at a nearby laundromat (although this was insufficient to run the three washing loads and four drying cycles for the ensemble of our clothes and backpacks).  They also provided garbage bags and generic insecticide which we used to douse and seal our suitcase and delicates.  Unfortunately, they were “out” of product effective against the treatment of bed bugs.  They claimed to have ordered some for the following Monday meaning bed bugs had at least two days to spread.  After spending our entire morning dealing with the purging process, we finally got to exploring Bled hoping we’d be able to enjoy the rest of our day.  When we got back to checkout, we had to wait for about 30 minutes to settle the bill, watching the staff check-in multiple waves of new guests.  Had we not imposed ourselves, we would certainly have been waiting even longer and had more of our time wasted.  Not the most efficient staff in that regard, as once it was our turn, we were done in 5 minutes.  Finally, we were told at checkout that they did not accept credit cards.  Luckily we had enough cash on us otherwise we would ya awaited 30 minutes to find out we had to go track down an atm.  I politely pointed out that the establishment’s description said they did indeed accept credit cards and was told the error would be corrected promptly.  24 hours later, the description still shows credit cards are accepted.
All in all, we scored them as follows:

Minus 1 point for hygiene 
Minus 1 point for management efficiency
Plus 1 point for friendliness
Final score of 2 points

Given the same personnel are responsible for managing three hostels (Ace of Spades, Queen of Hearts, and Castle 1004), I’ve permitted myself to leave the same comment for all three establishments.

As a final comment / recommendation to the establishment: as bedbugs appear to be a recurring issue, given other reviews, it would be prudent to make sure you always have anti-bedbug products on hand and treat the ensemble of the rooms in a preventive manner.

Beds bugs and inefficient but friendly staff

Ah absolute gem of a hostel. I have never met such enthusiastic and accommodating staff in my life. They put in 100% effort and they made my groups stay a pleasure. Comfortable beds and a hot shower. Clean facilities and a fully stocked kitchen. Would fully recommend.

Excellent 

Lovely quirky hostel, clean, great kitchen, great location, and reasonably priced apart from the city tax, which isn't the fault of the hostel. The hostel where we checked in, Castle 1004, the sister hostel seemed to have a better atmosphere as they had a larger common area and a terrace (which residents of AoS were allowed use). Also we availed of the free transfer from train station to the hostel as we stayed for four nights which was so nice. Even though there is a good bus from Lesce Bled train station it was lovely to be dropped to the door of the hostel.

Great hostel

So Bled is very expensive, and so is this hostel. 
Its clean has great kitchen facilities but can be confusing as there is no reception. The reception is in fact in another hostel, which serves three hostels so gets busy.

The atmosphere in the common area is really great and the location is spot on.
Its a shame the city tax in Bled is so high because you leave feeling a bit penniless. Otherwise, the hostel would be a good value for money.
