We had an amazing experience at Hisa Denk. The staff was so kind and helpful, they really made us feel special. They think of every little detail! The food was delicious, there wasn't anything that we wouldn't like. The plates were arranged very thoughtfully and with every bite we had an explosion of flavours that we haven't taste before. 
They also have a cute park with fish pond outside that you can admire, the whole atmosphere is very cosy and nice.

Our dinner at Hisa Denk

We have been on a family road trip with a car trough Italy and wanted to drive to Austria with a stop at Hisa Denk. We did the booking 2 weeks in advance and got the confirmation right away. However attached to the reservation was also the rules and regulations on how to behave in this restaurant. One of the rules was that there are no dogs allowed. Since we had a small little quiet dog with us on the entire trip I informed the reservation lady that there is no way that we can leave the dog with somebody since we are on the way to Austria. The dog is in a bag that we use for flying in the cabin and we would have not problem with us being seated in an area where we don't disturb anybody. The answer was short and rude: We can either leave the dog in the car at below 0 degree or we eat somewhere else. Since I had the feeling that the reservation lady was a bit overwhelmed with her job I decided not to go in an argument and just drive by in order find a solution for our dog with somebody competent. However the lady was faster. She just cancelled our reservation without any further comment. Truthfully we are used to fine dining also at much better restaurants then this - f.i. at Hisa Franko: there they offered our dog a bowl of water instead of throwing us out. So far we never have experienced anything like that. In no restaurant we had a problem with our dog. So I only recommend this place to diners, that only want to leave their money and don't expect any customer service. Diners like us, who enjoy good food and enjoy feeing welcome will avoid this place. Merry Christmas!

No Customer Service

Amazing culinary experience. We travelled to Máribor to enjoy some wine tasting in the many wineries around but also to visit Hiša Denk. It did not disappointed us, we enjoyed every second there. We opted by a 7-course menu with wine pairing and every dish had its own personality and shine. On top my wife asked about famous lamb and the waiter brought us extra dish without blinking... They only but... When we arrived to the desert we were so full we couldn't go through the whole thing... Pairing wines were excellent as well... Perhaps the orange wine is a bit too much for our taste... But we are open to experimenting. Overall, great, great experience in another extraordinary restaurant in Slovenia!! 

An avant-garde restaurant managed by an avant-garde chef... Wonderful experience 

My husband, son and I stayed overnight and had dinner. The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish, the food was creative, delicious and plentiful. We had 7 courses all of which looked stunning and tasted even better, the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed 2 bottles of wine.The two rooms we stayed in were spacious and stylish with a beautiful bathroom, the whole place was spotlessly clean. If I have one tiny thing I would have changed it was that we didn’t control our own  air conditioning it was done centrally and the room was a little warm overnight, i did open the window but it was a bit noisy. Overall I cannot recommend a visit to Hisa Denk enough, a fabulous treat.

A fabulous treat

I have visited most of the Slovenian restauarants, which are considered good/even the best. But it was my first time at Hisa Denk and they surpassed my expectations - though I have heard many great things about them. But the fresh Michelin star gave yet another reason to visit. We had a 5-course menu, along with a glass of sparkling wine at the beginning and a glass of white and red wine to go with the dishes. The plates seemed like an artistic work and you could clearly see that they put lot of effort into details and that everything is carefully planned. The staff is really nice and the description of the food itself also inspires. Wine selection includes the best Slovenian winemakers, which is really great.

Highly recommendable

My husband and I spent 4 lovely hours enjoying the 7-course tasting menu. Nothing felt forced, the dishes kept coming with a suitable glass of wine and a decent pause in between. We had enough time to talk to each other but also to get to know the extremely friendly, professional and multilingual staff. The atmosphere was relaxed and modern, we felt totally at home.

Elegance and deliciousness!

Everything was great, food, service, sleeping arrangements, and also beautiful breakfast! Not to mention amazing price/performance! Reserve the room at Denk and visit local vinery Gaube! Will definitely come again! 

Lovely - definitely recommend 

We had reserved a table for 2 for lunch at the Hisa Denk restaurant. The location was beautiful.  Service was perfect and very smooth!
The three course menu was highly refined. On the menu there were three dishes, but I think we had 5!
A restaurant with a price and location you won't find easily in Slovenia and impossible in Belgium.

Woaaauw!

It was an excellent experience with 4 courses of special food accompanied by wine. Our family enjoyed the first visit of Michelin star restaurant in our local area. Special ambient and professional staff.

Highly recommended,best food,ambient is great. We enjoyed our evening.The chef and his team were great.We will definitely be back soon. The best restaurant in Slowenia. Worth your money, pet friendly. Evreything was great.
