Lovely atmospheric restaurant in beautiful old village in Slovenia's wine-growing region. This is a very popular restaurant (for good reason) so you will need to book ahead and arrive on time. Delicious dishes accompanied by impressive local wines served by courteous staff from a very tempting menu made for a relaxing and memorable evening.

Prior to our trip, did a lot of research as to where to taste wine and where to stay.  Even thought this town is very small and quaint (exactly what we like) it offered everything that we wanted for our Goriska Brda stay.  Clean, comfortable, roomy apartment that provided a great sleep.  Staff very friendly and helpful.  Dining downstairs which was wonderful for dinner.  Breakfast was also served each morning and was plentiful and tasty.  Free parking just outside the walls, less than a hundred yard walk with luggage.  Many fabulous wineries within minutes of driving.  True gem of a place!

PERFECT in every way!

Situated in a medieval town of Smartno, this 500-years-old house is the very center. All renovated with very good taste, it offers trendy rooms in style and first-class restaurant with great choice of local wines. 
A little bit pricey, but worth it. 
Friendly staff and the lady owner will take their time for a chat with you.
Loved it really and can recommend to all who search for something more than just a standard hotel accommodation. You will feel like at home.

Beautiful place

Very nice authentic accomodation in most beautiful part of Brda. It is located in charming town of Šmartno, atmosphere, restaurant and staff was excelent.  Room was nice and clean, breakfast offers a lot and is fresh with local ingredients. Will come back.

Hisa Marica is in a great location, free parking. Friendly and professional staff, the rooms are clean, spacious, decorated in a very "Brda" style. The food is delicious and excellent, the breakfasts are plentiful and delicious. very happy!

Not cheap, but a very nice place. Great location, good food.
It is probably one of the more beautiful places to stay. If you have a lot of luggage or heavy luggage, this is NOT a good place for you, since the rooms are at the second floor with very narrow stairs and you will have to carry all your things by yourself. 
Was not offered any help on this. Seems like they are more busy with their restaurant then their rooms, so it is not like there is a reception there, there is non. If you need anything, you have to go inside the restaurant and ask, and if they are busy, it might not be so pleasant...
Rooms are beautiful, sleeping quality is 7 out of 10

Best pasta with truffle ever. Very nice renovated place in this beautiful village. Staff in very friendly and professional. Local wine Belica also very good. Not to mention the chocolate souffle... simply the best.

Excelent food and staff

The location inside charming hillside village is awesome. A pleasant home atmosphere. Food is excellent. They offer season domestic food. Excellent ratio quality/price. Staff is absolutely fantastic. I strongly recommend to visit.

Romantic place

Smartno is a charming hillside village being regenerated and is a beautiful spot for a restful overnight stay. House Marica is rustic and comfortable. Rooms are attractive and spacious. We ate in the restaurant and thought the food was pretty good and reasonable. There is a little bar nearby which serves local wines in the courtyard. A nice mix of locals and visitors. 
Stunning views of the vineyards surround the village and there are a few shops/stalls selling local produce. 

Charming rustic hotel

 Nice place for take off in the middle of old village, Friendly staff, good food, fresh tasty breakfast, clean rooms, in some can be 2 + 2, in the middle of wine-growing lend Goriska brda -  Slovenian Napa Valley.
