When we arrived my husband opened a window to circulate the air and turned on the air-conditioning.  We left for dinner.  When we returned, the air-conditioning was off and the window was closed.  We looked all over for the remote control for the air-conditioning and couldn’t find it.  It was a hot evening.  The apartment was directly over a restaurant where people were celebrating the World Cup.  If we opened the window to cool the apartment we couldn’t sleep because of the noise from the restaurant.  If we closed the window, the apartment got hot because we had no way of turning on the air-conditioning.  We had an uncomfortable and sleepless night.  My husband had a migraine and needed sleep to get over it.  Consequently his migraine lasted for longer than it should have.

There was no way to get in touch with Vista Apartments management as they leave in the evening and don’t return until the next day.  The girl who checked us in called right before we left for dinner to tell us she was leaving an hour early (at 6 p.m. rather than 7 p.m.) and would not be back in the office (which was not in the same location as the apartment) until noon the next day.   Check out time was 11 so we left at 11 a.m. the next day.

We were confused about what happened and emailed Vista Apartments.  They informed us that they had received a call from a neighbor that the window to the apartment was open.  They entered the apartment (while we were at dinner) to close the window as they had a policy that the window had to be closed at all times.  We were never informed of this policy.   They turned the air conditioning off and took the remote with them.  They left no explanation.  They could have closed the window and left the air conditioning on (or at least left the remote so we could turn it back on) and left a note explaining that we should please keep the window closed.  They had our cell phone number so they could have called us to explain.  They did none of this.  Consequently, we spent a sleepless and uncomfortable night.  It’s as if they were trying to teach us a lesson.  

When we disputed the charge with our credit card company, they lied and said we availed ourselves of the air-conditioning services.

Vista Apartments-Burja Hoteli (Prvomajski trg 4) punished us for not following a policy they never informed us of.

The best of the best! Nice, big, clean apartment. As good as a location can be and sea view. You can go from the apartment in swimmingclothes. What more can you ask for than this? The stuff is Aldo nice and right outside the front door a square with one of the cheapest and bedt restaurants in town

We stayed in the duplex for two nights in Piran and found the place very comfortable and great value. The staff have great communication and notify you beforehand of the best places to park as you cannot drive your car into the old town. They also answered my questions very quickly over email, which was appreciated. 

Check-in happened at another building a few streets away, but it was an easy walk to the apartment and the staff were great at showing us the place and answering all questions.

The duplex apartment is a few floors up which could be tough with a lot of luggage, but we had no real issues. The staircase to the bedroom is quite narrow and steep though, so be careful if you have big backpacks like we did. The skylights on the top floor open up (it took us a while to figure this out!) and you can stick your head out the roof and enjoy the view. For those of us who are taller, the sloping roof is quite low upstairs so it's almost a sure thing that you'll bang your head off of it a couple of times.

The bathroom is nice enough and the living room area is also comfortable although we spent very little time in either as most of the days were spent outside enjoying Piran.

We parked at the Arze garage as it was a cheaper rate, but the staff warned us ahead of time that this would be a tougher walk when we were leaving as it is up a big hill. They were not lying! If you have a lot of luggage I would use the garage with a shuttle. It was a very scenic walk up the hill though, so just know what you're getting yourself into.

The location of the apartment is perfect as everything is very close by in Piran. The water is right there as well as the main square and many restaurants, etc. 

Overall, a very nice stay made better by very helpful staff. Would definitely come here again!

Comfortable stay for a great price

The place had a huge kitchen with dining area, a bedroom with tvand a bathroom.. The kitchen was equipped with everything and the view to the sea was nice. The place was very clean and comfortable. However, in the right, due to the bars downstairs, it can be quite noisy. 

Clean and spacious

First of all, let me clarify the driving situation in Piran: in short, you really can’t drive in town.  You have to park at the garage a short way out of town (17 Euros a day, calculated from the time you arrive to the time you leave, not on a calender-day basis) and take the frequent free shuttle in (and back).  The shuttle will drop you in Tartini Square (Piran’s main square), and it’s a pretty easy walk to anywhere from there (Piran is small), though it takes a while to find your way through the numerous backstreets.  Note that the spaces in the garage are small and tight so you’d better hope your rental car isn’t huge.  When you leave, you have to pay at the machine near the entrance (don’t do what we did and have your car blocking the exit while you try to figure out how to pay your ticket).  The entrance and exit to the garage is on floor 7, and the shuttle leaves just down the road from floor 1.  Unfortunately this means that if you want to pay your ticket before you leave you have to go up to floor 7 first then back to your car.
   To the apartment.  There are several of these under the Vista name, and I can comment only on one: we rented the apartment on 1st May Square (the little square with two statues, one block from the water).  From the website description, I was expecting a sea view, and to be strictly accurate there IS one... however, the view is through skylights in the roof in the bedroom (there are two levels: living/kitchen downstairs, and the bedroom upstairs, reached via an incredibly narrow spiral staircase which makes getting any luggage up there a challenge - I would not recommend this place for the elderly or those with limited mobility).
   So how can you see a view through a roof skylight, you ask?  Because, dear reader, the bedroom is in what I assume is a converted attic, and the ceiling slopes down so far on one side that the skylights are actually at your level.  This makes attaining the view neither comfortable nor particularly easy, since you have to open the skylight and duck around to the other side (it’s on a central pivot), then stick your head out of the roof to gaze fondly at the roof and the sea beyond.
   All of which emphasizes that this particular apartment is perfect if you happen to be a hobbit.  However, if you’re not from Middle Earth and you choose to sleep on the right side of the bed, then you’re going to be banging your head on the rafters at least a few times getting in and out of bed... and if you want to access the chest of drawers in the corner then the only way to do that is to crawl there on your hands and knees.  (Note to the management: moving the bed to the far wall away from the skylights would help.  Oh, and please put some clothes hooks in the minimalist bathroom).
   The apartment is clean and centrally located, and Rebekka the manageress was helpful... but don’t expect a bedroom with a real view - and for heaven’s sake watch your head.  We wouldn’t stay there again.

Disappointing

The judgement is just under sufficient. Gentle staff however: old building with stairs at the limit of safety, shower that loses, single covers positioned horizontally to cover the whole bed (you notice it when you cough). Price not in line.

Solution below average

The apartment is in the center of the town, on the waterfront, with a breathtaking panoramic view..we didn't use the kitchen, but it is large and furnished with everything.

Kindness and View

Very nice new apartment suitable for couples very convenient location luxurious 1 May practically very close to Tartini Square and to the sea walk.

I highlight its excellent location (in the heart of Piran's old town) and the breadth of the apartment as well as the kitchen equipment and the wifi connection.However, we did not like the building where the apartments are located (old and with a very uncomfortable and dangerous staircase).

A good option

The entrance is through a rather old building that at first looks bad.On entering the apartment the surprise is the beautifully furnished layout, the sea views and the kitchen equipment.The bed is quite comfortable and is located in the center of Piran.It has good insulation so that you can't hear the noise of the street at night.
