Good food, decent location to exploring the National Park, in need of some TLC in the rooms (broken things that didn't get fixed when we asked, etc.) - We've stayed in tourist farms all over Slovenia so we're not unrealistic in our expectations of what they are meant to be. 

Good food, but in need of some TLC 

Tourist Farm Pri Kafolu was one of about twenty places we stayed during our honeymoon bike tour, and it was by far our favorite. We stayed there for two nights, and Tomaz, the owner, was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The room was clean and simple, with a balcony that had a gorgeous view. We ate our dinners (order a day or more ahead) and breakfasts onsite, which were delicious and filling and featured regional dishes made with farm-grown ingredients. The farm stay is situated in a small village with no amenities, but is within easy biking/driving distance (or about a 45 minute walk) from the larger town of Tolmin. This was such a relaxed, calming place to stay -- we wish we had stayed longer.

Just returned from a short week biking and fishing and staying with Tomas at his special house.

The important stuff - nice rooms, very clean, friendly and welcoming.

The also important stuff - generous, great home cooking, good tips on where to go and what to do.

This was our second stay and there will be a third.

Perfect Place in a Perfect Valley

We had a super 2 nights at Pri Kafolu in the family room. It’s a great location to explore the valley - everything a short drive away. We had simple but tasty dinners and the breakfasts set us up for the day. Very friendly family that runs it. 

Homely, friendly and great food

I was on fly fishing trip in Slovenia in early May and stayed in this hotel for six nights. Very reasonably priced, this hotel offers great rooms with everything you would need for such trips, excellent sleeping quality, great food (breakfasts and home cooked dinners were exceptional), the room was large and had a terrace with great view over Soca valley. Tomaz was a great host, very helpful with everything you could need and very friendly. I would definitely stay here again when I return to Soca valley.

Great location near Soca river

It was a very cold & rainy March evening when we arrived in Prapetno (in Tolmin Municipality), but Tomaz's humorous jokes at dinner warmed our hearts, and his mama's delicious food filled our hungry tummies. 
Meals were all delicious and we especially love the roasted chicken with the farm-grown vegetables. Do stay on half board. 

The Tolmin area is very scenic with the Soca River and Tolmin Gorge. We drove to Tolmin Gorge @ the lowest point of entry into Triglav National Park. It is a 10 min drive from the town of Tolmin. Tolmin Gorge is very accessible and the trail is well maintained. It is an incredibly beautiful natural wonder and we loved the hours we spent there in rainy cold weather. Superb experience with really awesome views!  Takes your breath away. 

It was a pity that we did not have time to visit Bovec, an hr's drive away, but we did pass lovely Kanal, on the left bank of the Soca River. 

We enjoyed our stay at Pri Kafolu, thanks to the warm hospitality of Tomaz and his mama. Wonderful Prapetno & Slovenia will remain etched in our holiday memories. 

Wonderful hospitality & scenic location 

Tomaz makes every one feel so welcome.  What a great guy.  His mom is a great cook, breakfasts and super, though I will say we could use less food.  The location makes the whole Soca valley easily accessible by car or bike. Would stay here again no questions asked. 

Farm Stay Extra Ordinaire

Place is fresh and clean with tasty breakfast with local food. Owner Tomaz is very kind and always ready for help. Place is near the city Tolmin, but you need transportation to get there. In summer time, Soca river is close for swimming to get fresh :)
