It has the potential to be a great stay IF you book a family room. The smaller room with a sea view is tacked onto the main building which resulted in the 'communal' facilities being right on the doorstep of the room. If the 'communal' facilities are used then a) your sea view changes into a view of the facility users and b) you have to close your door to an already claustrophobic space to get any privacy. The wooden deck on the top level is not sealed meaning that sitting at a table below the deck is only possible if you like dirt falling onto/into your hair, food, and drink. They also advertise WiFi but there are none. They stop providing breakfast due to Covid yet the price for Bed and BREAKFAST remains the same.

False advertising. Will never use them again. Also not trusting Lekker slaap webpage anymore. The place was dirty, full of spiders.

The staff also stole from us... not something big but steeling is steeling. 

When they clean the room they rearrange your stuff like they want.

The rooms , service  and  the whole visit there was just perfect. The staff were friendly. The view was perfect . I will highly recommend The Sandcastle Guesthouse to anyone that needs a brake from their everyday busy lifestyle.

Excellent service

Peaceful relaxing environment and safe.. very neat and clean. Secure parking. If ever u want some peace and quiet with the oceans breeze and smell then this place is the place to be.

This guest house is very neat, warm and comfortable. The room that we have had may have been a little small, but it was not really a problem at all.
The main road in front of the gate is little close to the entrance but we managed.
The view from the deck is fantastic. 


Excellent weekend.

Sleeping arrangement were fine but for 6 people to using 1toilet and 1 shower was absolutely bad. The Door handle was working we had to lock every time you exit or enter due to lever not functioning.  WiFi was not working .

The place is clean, peaceful and quite exactly what we needed. 

I can say we have found ourselves a home for our family vacations in Durban.

The best ever

We loved our stay there in december 2019, staff was friendly and owner went out of her way to make us feel at home place was clean and tidy at all times. Would definitely book there again for the holidays with my family, the view is great, the swimming pool is always clean, the breakfast was great and the my car was securely parked inside the property. 

Would recommend this accommodation anytime. Host gave us excellent service.  The beds was comfortable .  The rooms clean.  The view was beautiful. The host went out of her way to make our holiday special.  Thank you Cindy.

The host and staff always friendly and willing to assist. It's clean, spacious, peaceful and beautiful. Dog friendly as we took our furbaby with. He loved all the attention and was very comfortable.places and beaches are close by. Beautiful views. Definitely going there in future. It was safe for both humans and furbaby
