We spent 13 nights at WIllowbrook as we came for a nearby croquet tournament and were delighted with our experience.   First the location was just perfect for us as it was a very short walking distance to the club along a quiet, leafy and safe lane.  We fell in love with the beautiful garden, with the Laurens River flowing through the back of the property.  Absolute tranquility and very spacious, comfortable, well-equipped bedrooms and large bathrooms.  A quiet, grassy pool area and every bedroom had their own patio open to the garden. Nothing was too much trouble for the very friendly and competent staff.  Thank you Lisa, Marie, Amelia, Lisel and everyone for your professionalism, dedication and warm hospitality.  The restaurant served us freshly home-cooked, delicious meals whenever we didn't go out in the evenings and the full breakfasts really couldn't have been better.  We highly recommend this establishment and hope to return again.



Highly recommended and comfortable!

We stayed at Willowbrook for a two week golf holiday - and had a wonderful time 

If you like a smaller more imitate guesthouse/small hotel. You will love this. 

Our room was spacious with a great private outdoor seated area overlooking a beautiful garden stuffed with alliums bursting with colour

Everyday our room was cleaned to an extremely high standard with fresh towels and refills

We had several evening meals at Willowbrook which were all fantastic and such good value for money 

You had to let the staff know if you wanted to have dinner in the evening - so that they could plan accordingly. Otherwise there was loads of other local choices to choose from. We all loved “Henri’s” in particular. 

Breakfast was always a treat with a choice of cereal, yogurt,, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses. And if that wasn’t enough there was a range of freshly cooked breakfast choices as well. 

There was a small pool with sun beds to use which was always refreshing after a long hot day

But the best thing for us about Willowbrook was the staff. In particular Marie and (Queenie) for her warm happy smile every morning and excellent breakfast service. Nothing was ever too much trouble and she was always so helpful. Easle did the housekeeping and did a fantastic job on our room - keeping us comfortable at all times. And Amelia who was our chef and took care of reception. Lisa the owner was also on hand and very accommodating which we appreciated. In summary the staff were all brilliant - even the gardener who we saw daily working hard within the grounds  - he would always smile and say hello.

…a great stay at Willowbrook

Willowbrook is a perfect place to stay , close to all the main attractions , very well managed by Lisa and her Team.  Excellent food and very nice quiet rooms with all the  amenities, coffee, hairdryer, etc
In the property there is a very nice walk along the river, plenty of birds, squirrels, flowers everywhere. A place where just enjoy a book at the pool or start a trip for the Cape or the Easter or Western side.

amazing place and location

This is a great place to stay - close to wineries and good walking ! We had an amazing stay here with elderly parents and we were so well looked after . We felt safe and the area is so quiet and peaceful.  Would thoroughly recommend . The rooms are spacious and very comfortable .

Family stay at this wonderful country house . Lisa and Mari are both just lovely hosts and their chef is amazing

Every year in November we spend 5 days with Lisa and her team. It's like coming home every time. Very personal atmosphere. All rooms are very spacious and beautifully furnished with great attention to detail. Great garden with pool and sunbeds. Very good breakfast. Egg dishes are freshly prepared. The evening menu is small but everything is very fresh and finely prepared. Each dish can be recommended. Lisa and Emilia and the whole team put a lot of heart and soul into this wonderful lodge. We are already looking forward to November 2023.

Every time a highlight

My wife and I enjoyed a delightful stay here on Saturday night. Beautiful surroundings comfortable room and excellent line fish 🐟 dinner. 
Hostess Marie could not have been more helpful. 
Secluded position out of town and next to renowned venues like lourensford  and Vergelegen.

We stayed with Lisa and her team for the first time this year and thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Willowbrook!
The team looked after us very well and it was no issue providing breakfast at 6 am if we had an early tee-time! Lisa helped us with golf and restaurant bookings - and was always available to answer queries - on-site or per WhatsApp!

The interiors of the rooms are very tastefully decorated and the bed - most comfortable! This is most important if you are spending 3 weeks at a guesthouse!!

The location of Willowbrook is ideal for golfers and non-golfers alike! Several good restaurants and wineries as well as Stellenbosch and Strand are within 15 - 25 mins drive.

Marco and I had a terrific time and highly recommend this Guesthouse.

Most enjoyable!

I came to south Africa with my parents and five year old daughter, to visit family locally. We stayed at the willowbrook for nine nights, our first visit to this establishment. 
Lisa, Amelia and Frank were welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. They each went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We had breakfast out in the garden every morning and the chef was happy to accommodate us where possible with our food orders. My daughter loved the pool, which was clean and fresh and gave us a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the garden and sunshine! Both bedrooms were very large, very clean and beautiful in decor. We had a beautiful walk in shower and the beds were comfortable. I cannot recommend Willowbrook enough. Due to covid they have suffered, as have every other accommodation in the world, but they have kept this wonderful guest house going. We will definitely be staying again when we return.

Unbelievable experience!! Very professional yet friendly and comfortable. Lisa and her staff were extremely accommodating to our every need. They went over and beyond to deliver exceptional service for a business breakfast meeting. Basically home away from home atmosphere and we left knowing we would be back soon.
